Great place !! We re-arranged the furniture a bit to suit our needs: pulled the leaf from the table to make it smaller and moved it into the kitchen area, moved the red sofa into the living area. Put it back before we left so Hugh & Patti wouldn't know ( ar, ar, ar ). If you are from a cold climate ( down under ), it gets a bit warm during the day ( as all places on the islands do ). Go to the beach or take a cool shower ! Overall, top marks for Hugh & Patti for first-rate hospitality and info !!!

This place was perfect for our family of five. We loved it so much, and the view was amazing!!! Patti and her partner Hugh was so welcoming and informative. Thank you for telling us about the turtles, the little one loved it, he asks to see them everyday. :) Being able to make breakfast and dinner everyday was a plus for us with the full sized kitchen, just what we needed. Would absolutely stay here again should we ever come back. Thank you sooo much!!!!

The space was just like description! Hugh was able to greet us and give us a tour of the space when we arrived. Parking is on the road at the bottom of the driveway. Place gets a little toasty during the day but fans are provided and there are some cool winds at night. Overall would stay at again and will def recommend!

Patti's place is in such a great location on the island. Kaneohe gets you away from the hustle and bustle of Honolulu and the backdrop of the mountains surrounding you is incredible. The leeward side is so lush and if it does rain where you are at, drive 15 minutes and it is sunny!

Huge and Pat are great host. The place is exactly as Pat put down in the ad. We have a great time as it suits our life style.

The pictures do not do the house justice. It was very comfortable for our family of 6 (5 adults 1 teen). Hugh was very knowledgeable and gave us several places to visit that were off the beaten path. The house for use was centrally located to travel easily throughout the island. We would definitely rent again on our next trip to Honolulu.

On the positive side: The location of the apartment provides easy access to all parts of the island. Only 30 minutes to Waikiki. The apartment was very clean. Although there were very small bugs that looked like ants that crawled on the kitchen counters and around the upstairs bathroom sink and a spider in the bathroom. Patti and Hugh were very welcoming and friendly during our stay. Hugh brought us up aloe after he saw we were sunburned. They supplied a cooler, boogie boards, nice beach towels and chairs-although we discovered one was broken when we got to the beach. On the negative side: The place was extremely hot inside. Even with all the fans going and windows open we were miserably hot and tried to get out of the place early and return late at night. The cool trade winds spoke of in the description did not exist during our stay and it was hard to get to sleep because of the heat. In the morning neighborhood roosters and other birds woke us up at the crack of dawn because we had the windows opened. The church next door was doing some renovations and the workers were loud in the morning. If the windows were closed it was even more stifling hot. Also the windows had no blinds. The front bedroom had cream colored curtains that the sun came right through early in the a.m. beating on whoever was in the room making a very miserable start to the day. The back bedroom had dark curtains but they did not fully close. The beds in the main room had no curtains that would keep out the sun. The stove is not a full size stove and if you use a large pan you can only use one burner at a time. Also only 3 burners worked. We did not cook as much as we planned to because use of the stove and oven made the apartment even hotter. The place is an apartment that is attached to the owners home and is above their garage. The second bathroom is not in the apartment. It is down a staircase and in a room off the garage. The owners operate a business out of the garage. Although the bathroom is for the renter only, the owners and their employees may be milling about in the garage-as one of my friends found out the first morning we were there when she walked out of the bathroom in her towel to a man in the garage. We felt uncomfortable with the lack of privacy with that bathroom. The bathroom also has no ventilation except for a frosted window that can be opened but when it is opened whoever is in the garage can see into the bathroom. One has to walk up a steep hill to get to the apartment. It was difficult to carry the cooler and beach equipment up and down the hill. The owners said we could load and unload...

Aloha from Kaneohe! There's not a thing anyone in the Hawaiian Islands can do about roosters crowing at the crack of dawn. They live here. I have a pest control service that comes every 3 months and it sure would be nice to know if you saw any ants or anything else so I can alert my pest control company before it escalates. Yes, it's hot in the day during the summer months, no doubt. It's nice and cool in the evening, over-night, even into the morning average temp. is 72 degrees during the summer months. I know I live here. Sorry about the workers at the church. I can't control renovations over there just like a hotel has to have maintenance and construction workers when they renovate. There's usually no one in the garage and sorry someone in your family felt uncomfortable. I fully disclosed the downstairs, EXTRA bathroom, is detached and not en suite. Sounds to me like you should stick to hotels so when it's not to your liking you can request another room. I am very surprised you did not express any of your concerns to me while you were here. As far as my dogs are concerned the fact that one of them is 3 months old and 3.5 lbs. proves you just like to complain. Come on! Really? Dililah growled and barked at you? Winnie, my 15 lb. rescue does bark at everyone coming and going but she never and I mean never growls at anyone.

I love to travel and like to stay at ultra-clean, trendy places and as a hostess hope to deliver that to my guests! Cleanliness is my top priority. I enjoy the finer things in life and love to share that with others. I own a small, island mobility rental business and me and the others that work with me help families stay together if they're traveling with elderly or people with low endurance. So if you need a mobility scooter, wheelchair or oxygen I can provide that for you too! My motto is whether you think you can or you think you cannot, you're probably right!
