This large 1846 farmhouse is my home. I offer to share it with nice people who want an alternative to the hotel in town. Ten miles from good sized towns in three directions. Queen bed. Large bedroom. Full bath. Living room. Reasonable kitchen use OK.

The space

Historic farmhouse with rustic features and furnishings. Living room and kitchen open to guests.

Guest access

Upstairs bedroom. Full bathroom. Living room. Kitchen use. Large fields to walk in.

Interaction with guests

I work long hours away from the farm right now. I leave early. I go to bed early. This is new to me right now. If you are up when I am, I am happy to share coffee and breakfast. Otherwise you are welcome to cook yourself something. Country store one mile away. I love to visit when I am here. The living room has lots of space.

Other things to note

One hour +/- from major ski areas. Many other recreational activities nearby. 7 miles from Lake Champlain. Ten miles from Middlebury. 350 acre farm setting. On main road but not high traffic.

Alden's setup at the Harwood farm is perfect for visitors to Middlebury. It is about a 15 minute drive, at the most, from the campus. Alden is a welcoming host who grows his own tomatoes and keeps bees and makes honey. The smell of the hay on the farm is my kind of perfume. We were honored to be his first ever AirBNB guests. We will be back.

I am a farmer and a Facilities Director for a school district. I live in a large old farmhouse by myself. I leave early and work late. I am happy to share my home with nice people who want an alternative to the hotel in town. (We are only ten miles from vibrant towns).
