After staying other places in Cuba this place blew our minds. It's like out of a 1950's film noir. Old Hollywood in architecture and details. A pool even! Tremendous couple - Ricardo and Ana - took great care of us. We have two young girls 5 and 7 who couldn't get enough of the small pool. Just terrific place in the "fancy" part of town. Quotes on fancy because everything you thought you knew is sort of upside down in Cuba! Many thx to our hosts for making our stay so special. Take their recommendations if you go out to dinner!!

When we first arrived we had setup for Javier to pick us up from the airport which was arranged by Ricardo. The fee was 40$ and the ride is about 30 minutes to the house. Upon arriving to the house, we were then greeted by one of the house employees who brought us to our room. Our room was spacious with AC, and also had a spacious bathroom. We also had a patio area with a table, rocking chairs and even a hammock. We setup our breakfast time for 7:30am as we are early risers, and each day, coffee was brought up for my husband, and we later would head downstairs to the main table and be served a continental-like breakfast which always included, fresh fruits, loaf of bread, and eggs however we chose and included ham and cheese. Richard Sr. and Anna who are the homeowners were a lovely couple who made sure we were great. Ricardo arrived to Cuba the following day of our stay from Miami, who was young like us and recommended a few places for us to eat. If you are in need of a place that accepts U.S. credit cards, have him call the restaurant over by el Malecon and make sure the internet isn't down. If you can, ask for their friend Ricky who also drove us around town as his prices are a little less than Javier's. The neighborhood is quiet. You will hear roosters in the morning, and there is a restaurant that was recommended to us by Richard, who directed us to eat which was about 5 minutes walking distance from the house. Pretty inexpensive spot if you're on a budget - as we were due to the cash only/no internet/no credit card usage trouble we had. The restaurant is called, Mulatta which is mediocre but will do the job. If you are in need of wifi, you will need to walk about 5-8 minutes to Hotel Comodore. You will pay 4$ CUCs for 1 hour of terrible internet but it'll get the job done when in need. If you need to - arrange with Ricardo on changing US dollars to CUCs when you arrive at his house as he may be able to give a better rate. If we ever visit Cuba again, this is the place we will stay at. As the Anillo's made us feel very comfortable and treated us as we were family.

Best place to stay in Havana! Ricardo and Ana met us upon arrival, showed us to our very large and lovely space including a bedroom, bathroom, living room and a kitchenette. A nice air conditioned bedroom made for very comfortable nights. It was our first visit to Cuba so Ana volunteered to drive us around a bit the next day to show us a bit of our surroundings and show us where to get a cab easily. All very helpful. A lovely swimming pool at the place was very inviting each evening when we returned from our exploring. Breakfast was included each morning and the timing was flexible depending on our schedule. We speak a little bit of Spanish and spent some time visiting with Ricardo and Ana. We feel like we have made new friends. Even without Spanish, still a great place to stay. They both speak a bit of English - enough that you will understand the basics even if you cannot have long conversations. The neighborhood is very nice and very safe. We walked at night (even after midnight) without worry. It is about a 10 CUC cab ride to Habana Vieja. Nice places within walking distance too. We went to a great jazz club and a wonderful little local restaurant called La Mulata just a few blocks away. I highly recommend staying here rather than one of the hotels - it is much less costly and such a great way to experience the real Cuba instead of hanging out only with other tourists.

Ricardo and Anna are wonderful hosts! I am so glad to have met them! My only regret is that I don't speak Spanish so I didn't get to know them as thoroughly as I would have liked! This was my first trip to Havana, traveling alone, and I feel lucky that I landed where I did. I was able to get on an earlier flight to Havana so I was at their house earlier. I negotiated a $20 CUC cab ride from the airport to their house. Damariss (I hope I get the spelling correct), who works at the house, was there to meet me and fixed me some coffee and offered help with transportation. She gave me the key and showed me the room which is exactly as represented. Her welcoming smile and great sense of humor was nice to arrive to every morning! Everything was very clean and it was perfect for my 5 night stay. They have 3 rooms (I believe) at the house, perfectly situated for renting since each room has a separate entrance and key. Mine was up a set of outside stairs and off from a nice patio with seating (that I used). It had its own bathroom, clean and with fresh towels, if needed, every day and felt very private. I didn't even know anyone else was staying there until after my 2nd night. They provided a lovely breakfast that I took in their sweet courtyard with two tables for seating. The neighborhood is busy with people walking from work or to school. At night, they have security in the courtyard, but I never once felt unsafe in all of Havana. This was an extra comfort, however. You need to take a cab, or the better value, a collectivo, to get to Old Havana, the Melocan, and Vedado. I got taken to the cleaners on the cab rides at first paying $30 USD equivalent (CUC) one-way my first day...the collectivos are literally $.25 USD equivalent. You can get a cab for $10 CUC (same as $10 USD) one-way when the collectivos might not have other passengers. All of those locations are about 10-20 minutes away depending on the time of day. You can get those rides with a 5 minute walk to 3rd street or slightly less to 5th street. I can't tell you how much I appreciate Ricardo and Anna and how friendly and accommodating they were. Anna loaned me sandals for when I went to the beach one day. When they found out it was my birthday, Anna, Damariss and another wonderful lady who works there presented me with a small cake and candle and sang Happy Birthday to me :) So nice. Take good care! I would recommend their house to anyone.

We very much enjoyed our stay. The house was dated but very spacious & comfortable. Carmen & Damaris fed us breakfast daily & kept our rooms neat & tidy. Braulio drove us around to see the sights. Worth it because the streets aren't marked. Water pressure & mattresses were not to our standards but acceptable for Cuba.

Just back from my trip to Havana Cuba and my meetings representing some of the finest US Companies in the world. First of all, I have tried to use Airbnb in Dubai and other cities with no luck; having said that I tried it with Havana in order to save some money and boy did I find the most amazing place to stay at in all of Havana. Not only did I save money but became part of a new family renting a wonderful room at their 7 room house, Yes I said 7 rooms avail to rent. All with full showers and plenty of water pressure and hot water. But back to the story now..of my search. I looked for about a two weeks on Airbnb before I found a home in the right price range in a certain area of Havana called Miramar, I had been told that it was wonderful. Indeed, not only was the are wonderful....but the home I stayed in was amazing! Ricardo Jr in Miami started off with responding quickly and confirmed the price and location, it was as easy as that and he confirmed via SMS and we stayed in constant communications till I left to Havana. I exchanged money at the airport and took a taxi when I landed at the Havana Airport, they knew the house and I was dropped off at the gate, the house is gorgeous...see my photos please. Ricardo Sr met me, turns out he is a Doctor as well like me, smart and well mannered ass my host for the next ten days. I signed the required guest log for the Government and was shown my very nice room with full bar area and full size fridge and a nice parlor for my many meetings to come. The next morning I met the house keeper Carmen who made me a wonderful egg dish and a plate of fresh fruit with proper Cuban coffee, yummy is all I can say! This was my breakfast each day, On my two days off, I walked down 90th 3 street to 5th and then continued down 5Th to 16th, took me past all the embassies and I stopped off at the house of Habanos for Cigars with Carlito Robaina, the son of the very famous Alejandro Robaina. His welcomed me for coffee &a cigar each day; this tuned out to be part of my daily exercise of 3.72 miles each day there for coffee with him after my breakfast cooked by Carmen at the Ricardo House, From the Habanos house. From here is it was 5cuc or about $6 to my meeting points at the different ministries. Back to Carmen the housekeeper, I had set my whites aside on my bed when I left as wanted to take them into a dry cleaner. Turns out Carmen picked them when cleaning the room, only cost me $9.00 USD and I must says that is better than any service I have ever had...
