Neighbourhood highlights

Brightlingsea is a small seaside town that has its roots in the oyster fishing industry. In modern times it has become known for yachting and dinghy sailing. The beach is quite small and tidal. There is a kids paddling pool, a Lido, a skate park and coastal walks that are great for dogs. In the summer a foot ferry runs from the harbour to beaches at East Mersea and Point Clear. The high street offers good food shops. There are a number of good pubs that offer food, or just a drink. There are some tea rooms and some good places to eat.
