Recently built by local architect to host Austin visitors and local fans. Spacious guest suite has it's own private entrance and outdoor patio. Perfect for festival goers, weekend getaway or corporate stay. Yards away from Big Stacy Park and Pool as well as the walking trail to Lady Bird Lake. Walk to South Congress.

The space

Welcome to Travis Heights! This quiet, historic neighborhood located just south of Town Lake provides visitors a genuine South Austin experience.

Our DCA built apartment sits under a canopy of pecan trees behind our original home on Travis Heights Boulevard. The property neighbors beautiful homes built as early as 1890 and others newly constructed and designed by reputable, local architects.

Seasonal Events like ACL, F1, and SXSW require a 4 night minimum rental.

Shortly after we moved in, we learned that our house was used in the 1993 film 'Dazed and Confused' by Richard Linklater. You can see the house best when Tony (Anthony Rapp) and Sabrina (Christin Hinojosa) are kissing goodbye (a tender moment) at the end of the film.

Guest access

The guest suite includes a private entrance and outdoor patio for dining. Laundry is available and located in carport just outside of the guest suite. Refrigerator, Coffee Maker and filtered water accompany some basic kitchen tools. Local coffee, tea and chocolates are always in stock. Guest also have access to back yard and can easily walk 100 steps to the neighborhood pool (heated in winter).

Interaction with guests

We live in a separate unit on the property which is located opposite the back yard and accessible via a private drive and entrance. We always meet guests upon arrival and would be happy to assist with dining, entertainment and cultural event recommendations while you are staying with us.

Other things to note

The guest suite has a coffee maker, small fridge and access to laundry facilities.

We have stayed at Angella's guest suite several times now on vacations and working trips to Austin. Angella is a welcoming hostess who focuses on top notch service for her Airbnb stayers. She makes us feel like part of the family! Especially love being able to hug her gorgeous calm dogs because we miss our own when we travel.

Angella was welcoming (as always) and the place was perfect for a short or long stay. Great location for exploring the SoCo area or getting easily downtown. There was a coffee maker, some snacks and a little fridge with some sparkling water - which was a welcome surprise. I used the desk as a charging station and great TV that swivels - a perfect hotel suite. I used the pool daily down the hill and the laundry facilities to do a quick load on my way out. Can't wait to stay there again later in the month.

Angella and Tommy made us feel very welcome upon arrival and although we were very early, took in our bags and gave us some info so we could have a wander until the apartment was ready. Upon checking in there was wine, beer and snacks left for us - a very nice touch. The apartment itself is great - new, very clean, a great shower and a very comfy bed. The books, TV, coffee machine and a great cupboard space for clothes all add to the homely feel. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely look to stay again if we revisit Austin - highly likely as we had a great time at SXSW. Thoroughly recommend to anyone looking to take in the sights, sounds and tastes of Austin. A nice quiet area but an easy walk to what the city has to offer.

Angella was a fantastic host - welcoming, kind and very accommodating of our little family. She also gave us a set of fantastic recommendations for local things to do/places to eat. The apartment is lovely - surprisingly spacious, well-equipped and comfortable. In addition to the apartment, there was a lovely park at the end of the lane hosting a free, heated outdoor pool where we swam every day! It was a wonderful place to stay in a great city. Hopefully, we'll be back!

Really enjoyed staying here! The location was great, quiet but very close to everywhere in Austin we wanted to go. The guest suite was perfect for a weekend get away.

I am a native Texan who loves Austin above all other cities in the state. Living here since 1996, my husband Tommy and I consider ourselves fortunate to be a part of the growing economy, a viable arts community, and a network of close family, friends and colleagues. Travis Height…
