Cozy & characteristic loft with private roof terrace. Located in a quiet side street within in the canal district. The museum square, inspiring art galleries, all the major shopping streets, lovely restaurants, bars, cafes are all around the corner.

The space

Set in a protected 17th century house in the heart of old Amsterdam, the Weavery offers the unique character and style of a boutique hotel, with the personal service and homey comfort of a family run bed & breakfast.

The Weavery is as perfectly located as can be imagined. We are just 5 minutes walk from the museum square and a short stroll from all the big theaters. All the main shopping areas like Leidestraat, the 9 Streets and PC Hooftstraat are just around the corner and so are many lovely cafes and restaurants.

"Gezelligheid" (roughly translated it means cozy and pleasant) we keep top of mind at the Weavery. Each room is beautifully furnished and has a private bath and w/c, separate entrance and tea/coffee making facilities.

Our charming rooms feel like a home away from home to the independent minded traveler, who likes to move at his own pace. In short, we designed the Weavery to feel more like a pied-à-terre than a hotel or traditional bed & breakfast.

We have two rooms to offer. The Silk room and the Suite. This listing is for the Suite.

The Suite was most likely once a storeroom full of opulent silks and fine linens, destined to grace the well-to-do in faraway lands. This room would have housed the entire wealth of the family who once made the Weavery their home. The exposed original beams of the high ceiling hold many clues to the times when this building was a busy workplace and home during Holland’s golden age. The suite is both comfy and spacious, and has access to its own private roof terrace overlooking internal block courtyards; a hidden side of the real Amsterdam most tourists rarely get a chance to see.

There are two queen-sized beds. The regular queensize bed is in the back of the room. The additonal queen-sized bed is in the same room, above the beams, in a cozy 'gallery' reminiscent of the traditional Dutch “bedstee”. (please note that there is a surcharge for the use of the second queen-sized bed).
Please note that there is a small surcharge of 15,- Euro/night in case you prefer to sleep in the 2 separate beds!

The Suite is an island of independence with its own large bathroom with bath and rain-shower, and a separate private w/c. Of course we also offer tea and coffee making facilities in the room to ease your way into the morning. If you have some downtime there is a big screen TV, and if you don’t there is wireless Internet to keep you connected.

Please note that there is no elevator in the building and the Suite is located on the 2nd floor.

Based on the 2nd floor, featuring:
- 1 Queen-size bed
- additional queen-size bed in the same room, in the small 'gallery' above the beams (please note that there is a surcharge of 15,- Euro per night for the use of the 2nd bed)
- premium, natural beddings from Cocomat
- Ensuite bathroom with separate bath and rain-shower
- separate W/C
- Hairdryer
- Rituals bathroom amenities
- Tea/coffee making facilities
- Lounge corner
- Flat screen TV
- Wireless Internet
- Private roof terrace

As mentioned above, we also have an additional room to offer. Please have a look at our other listing if you are interested in our other double room, the Silk room.

**Breakfast can be provided on request for 15 Euro per person**

**There is an additional fee of 20,- Euro for arrivals later than 9pm**

The Weavery exceeded all my expectations. It is an amazingly well designed and welcoming boutique hotel with the feel of an old Dutch town house but with a modern twist here and there. All amenities are provided with a very nice extra of a roof terrace. Location wise its perfect for the museum district, restaurants and central is walkable with trams also nearby. Its an old townhouse so the stairs are a little steep otherwise I can't think of any downsides. Bettina could not have been more friendly, welcoming or helpful. Very highly recommended, traditional but fun and quirky, pleasantly different to your standard hotel.

This is the most delightful place for anyone who wants the very best of Amsterdam. We wanted the romance of Paris, so we really chose carefully and The Suite was simply stunning; ideal for couples or friends. It has such amazing beds, bathroom/shower and kitchenette where we enjoyed lovely fresh breakfasts, prepared by Bettina to perfection - including her mothers' homemade jam! She even surprised us on the morning of my fiancées birthday with a lovely homemade birthday cake and Prosecco. We were in heaven! Bettina and her lovely family were such amazing hosts, and really extended their warmth and goodwill, helping us plan our stay and explained just how The Weavery came to be so lovingly restored, from its former glory. The history of the building is visible throughout, with charming features, from the exposed beams to the flooring, paintings, winding stairs, terrace, and unique layout, to the tasteful mod-cons and signature carpets/rugs, manufactured and imported by Driss her Moroccan husband. He has very cleverly regenerated the original character of this truly authentic building, without compromising on any delicate creature comforts you would expect. This venue seriously over-performs, and I will be very very hard pushed to book elsewhere now that I know these guys. I would be crazy not to book in advance, especially as the word is now out about this place. Thank you for such a great time and making me seriously want to live in Amsterdam. Even when it was raining, it was so beautiful, but I'm sure this was, in part, down to the use of your umbrella and knowing we would be returning to such a cosy place for the night :)

We had a great stay at the Weavery. Samantha was a great host and offered many restaurant options that we explored throughout our stay. The balcony was wonderful and the location was in the museum district and a few blocks from public transportation. Overall, a great experience.

Bettina's place is perfect! It was impeccably clean and so cute. There are some winding stairs to get up to the studio, but that adds to the charm! The location was within walking distance to many attractions (Anne Frank, Heineken, Van Gogh), but at the same time, we felt like locals in a sweet neighborhood! I highly recommend The Weavery!

Bettina’s place was everything we could have hoped for in Amsterdam! The room is luxurious and comfortable. The room is furnished with a kitchen, a living room sitting area, an outdoor balcony sitting area, spacious bathroom, and a very comfortable bed. It’s located in central Amsterdam, nearly everything is a twenty minute walk away from home. In addition, there was cleaning service provided every day, so the room was nice and tidy each time we came home. Bettina herself is an excellent host, providing us with a city map and written guide of things to do and places to eat. She even baked us two cakes during our short stay. All in all, it was wonderful stay. Thank you, Bettina!
