We fell in love with Mongolia and want to share this experience in the Netherlands. Therefore we brought a Mongolian Ger from Ulan bator and found a place for it on a camping close to the Veluwe. The money goes to charity projects cleaning Mongolian steppes. Although we don't have steppes here, it is a easygoing campsite were we have a space just for us. It is definitely an unique experience waking up in the round space of the Ger. The interior is also all Mongolian.
We found a new spot on the campsite, we're exited to be planting trees and growing grass around the Ger. Keen to also make the garden around te Ger a perfect place! The Ger is on a quiet camping, with other camping guests around you. The camping is directly surrounded by forrest.
The Ger is one round space where traditionally the whole family lives. We decorated it with a place to cook, sleep and lounge. Most of the decorations come straight from Ulanbaatar.
You have access to the Ger itself, the round space, with a double bed, a couch for extra guests a gaspit fit for cooking and that's it! Also we put some basic cooking supplies there. The Bathroom is on the campsite (of course not in the tent) were you have the toilet, mirror, electricity for charging your phone and warm showers. Wifi available near the main building.
Interaction with guests
Although I'll be there to prepare everything for your stay, you can arrive on your own at your own time. I live in the nearby city but not on the camping itself.
Other things to note
The campsite is Alcohol free, if possible, try to respect that and keep your alcohol consumption to a minimum. Or better, take the challenge to be completely alcohol free!
The Ger is placed on a camping with other guests, we to would have loved to stay in the wild nature but that is still not allowed. The camping is full of friendly people, quiet and in the middle of the woods.
Still, mind you that it is not a house, it is a Ger, a tent. Therefore it is a adventurous stay in which you are living in a tent, and all the facilities are a luxury, not something taken for granted. Keep in mind that all animals big and small belong to the woods. If you keep food in closed containers you don't attract them.
Within the Ger keep in mind that you are sleeping in a unique tent. We got them out of Ulanbaatar and that is where we need to go if something gets broken. So please don't. Keep in mind that fire burns and needs to be handled carefully.
The campsite is very special, the guests are mostly there for the quiet nights and nature. There is no alcohol sold on the campsite, and the guests do not use alcohol in public. Take your time here as a recharging time, where you invest in relaxation or reload before you start your next adventure.

Growing up in Arnhem made me fall in love with the Veluwe. So even after traveling the world studying Cultural Anthropology, to me it is still the most beautiful place to live. I explore it daily with my border collie Pip and warmblood gelding Zen.
During my travels trough Mongolia I came up with the plan of creating the perfect nature- getaway; combining my love for Mongolian culture and beloved Veluwe. Right now I'm a free lancer who is also working hard to turn my cosy Mongolian Yurt into a true five-star worthy palace.
