We had a fantastic stay at Luisa's place. all the arrival , key etc logistics worked like clockwork and Luisa responded promptly to our questions throughout our stay. The apartment is perfectly located a few minutes from all the restaurants, ice cream shops, ATM, grocery stores etc, as well as being slightly up the hill for a cooling breeze and view over the harbour. The covered veranda was a lovely , cool space throughout the day. Highly recommended! Deon

Would be a good idea to bring towels and kitchen supplies. Try not to fly LIAT if at all possible, they are the worst airline I have ever experienced. House is located next to a very noisy bar that parties till 2:00 in the morning on week nds. Apart from that the hits is lovely with a great wrap around veranda and a view of Bequia.

Response from Luisa:
Hi Barbara thanks for your review. Extra towels are always available you could have asked we r always happy to provide Re the bar is located in the village and not near the house. The house is in a quiet residential area and there are no bars around. It does play loud music on a Friday night which can be heard throughout the entire harbour but the house is far enough away not to be of any major nuisance. No one has ever complained about the music as after all it is the Caribbean and is only played on a Friday night. Unless u choose to stay away from the centre in a deserted area some local noises will always be heard

Nice apartment close to the port with a great view. A good place to stay while exploring Bequia.

We loved staying at Starfish Apartments (Upper). The apartment is absolutely gorgeous. Clean, comfortable, bright and airy with a view over the bay. Great internet, and Cable TV. Luisa arranged everything. Fat Man picked us up from the Ferry and Queen was there with a big smile to greet us at the apartment. Luisa emailed to check we were ok and later in our stay we had the pleasure of meeting her first hand. She'll chat to you as much or as little as you want, she's great for local knowledge and will brighten your day with her colourful attire and wonderful laugh. The apartment is perfectly located. Walk down a small hill and you're in the port with shops, restaurants and bars. If you want a quick swim there are beaches about ten minutes in either direction, right (down by TradeWinds) and to the left, (at Plantation House). A little further along there's a relatively new walkway to the famous Princess Margaret beach where you can spend the day swimming and sunbathing, buy a cold drink from Fay or beautiful handmade souvenir's from Whistlin' Willie. The advantage of walking through town is that people will chat and you can stop off along the way at any of the sea front restaurants and coffee shops. In the morning have a coffee or pick up a warm baguette (have it filled for a picnic) at Lina's coffee shop where locals and regular visitors to the Island mingle, are friendly, and the conversation is always flowing. On the way back pick up provisions from the various supermarkets and vegetable stalls and cook something delicious in Luisa's well equipped kitchen. There's a huge fridge and she even has a slow cooker complete with recipe book (upper apt) so if you're organised you can come back to the smell of your own home cooked meal which you can eat on the balcony. Knights supermarket and the bakery next door to it has everything you need but if you're hankering after something exotic, e.g. English bangers or French Brie you'll find most things at Doris's. If you don't feel like cooking I recommend Sailor's bar where Elfic will cook you up a feast and might even sing for you and tell you stories after dinner. We also had a brilliant session, (which Elfic joined) at Mamas and Papas. We walked up to the old fort from Starfish and the views are spectacular. Jump on a dollar bus in the harbour which will take you to the beaches on the windward side of the island or take a taxi to the turtle sanctuary. If you're after a five star facial, massage or pedicure go to the beautiful Sanctuary Spa which Dorcell has just opened. She's really good. I loved Bequia. Everyone is friendly and happy and smiley. Unfortunately, we didn't get round to hiring the boat but next time (hopefully) we'll book the overnight to Tobago Cays. Thanks Luisa, Baker & Queen.

We really enjoyed our visit to Bequia, it is a beautiful Island and everyone is friendly. The apartment was lovely, in a good position with great views. The shady patio to the side was a welcome relief on the hot days and shelter on the rainy ones. Everything went smoothly from being picked up at the port to our sad goodbyes. We will remember swimming off the gorgeous beaches and eating fresh fish cooked minutes after being caught. It was too hot to cook after dark so we used the slower cooker on several occasions, which was perfect. Thanks Luisa and special thanks to Hi Tech, who looked after us during our visit.

Our welcome to Bequia was fantastic as 'Hightech', a friend of our hosts, sought us out on the ferry over, pointing out sights from the ferry on the way. He then insisted on carrying our luggage up the hill to the house! A very helpful, warm and enjoyable start to the holiday. The apartment was exactly as described. It is very close to the ferry- extremely convenient to shops and a very manageable walk to wonderful beaches. You are really part of the village and can get a sense of the daily life of Bequian residents which we really enjoyed. The local bars do play music into the evening- we enjoyed this. The apartment was extremely clean, well equipped and has a lovely view of the harbour. We 'lived' on the wrap around porch when at the apartment.
