My girlfriend and I stayed at this apartment for 3 months. Barcelona made it very central to call base while we roamed around Europe. The location is 2 minutes from L4 metro, barceloneta, which you can take to anywhere around Barcelona. Its only 5 minute walk to Gothic Quarter and the beach in the opposite direction. I couple GREAT places not to miss in the neighborhood are: Can Mano, Baluard, La Bombeta, Jai-ca, and Vaso de Oro. Can Mano has great fresh sea food dishes, typical catalan dishes ( pa amb tomaquate, butifarra, boquerones, vermut) at an affordable price. Baluard is by far the best bakery in Barcelona. Don't take it from me, ask any local; things to try are San Sebastian, Baluard, croissant con crema. At La bombeta, don't miss their bomba dish with some calamar a la romana, and charred artichoke. Note that these places are very popular so expect long wait, don't go hungry!
As for David's place in general, is very typical European size (small) but very practical, modern renovation, and furnished with all the basic essentials. The fresh sheets and towels every Friday morning was a luxury to have. Definitely appreciated Isabel, shoutout to all her help, as she would trek all those steps every Friday to drop of the heavy bags to everyone in the building. More notes, no elevator so be ready to work those legs. We are a fairly active couple so this gave us an extra workout. Others may not, however, appreciate it. Most, if not all, the furnishing is from IKEA so expect somethings to be lose needing some attention. Nothing major but I do wish we had tools. David's rate of response was shockingly fast and any problem would be dealt immediately, which was great. All in all, if you are looking for something practical, clean, efficient, low maintenance, and comfortable this is your place. We are more of a minimalist couple so this place was more than sufficient.
