The Welsh Church is beautiful buidling in a fantastic spot in Maldon.
The living space in the Church was nice and spacious, which was great for four adults and a 5 month old. Both bedrooms were a decent size with comfortable beds.
We were disapointed with a few things, which could easily be fixed.
There were very few basic ammineties - we had to go out and buy salt, peper and olive oil.
There was only enough firewood for two nights (we stayed for three) so the last night was a little chilly (there are heaters supplied but nowhere near as effective as the fireplace). We would have purhcased firewood if Jane had advised they don't supply enough for the whole trip.
Noise travels incredibly easy, and a high shared indoor window between the two rooms means it's easy to disturb each other.
There was almost no information about Maldon left out. We had been to Maldon before so it wasn't too much of a problem, but if this was your first trip it would have been really disapointing to not have tips and ideas from a local (one of the best things about Airbnb).
Communication before was very limited and we didn't meet Jane at all so were unable to ask questions about the Church or Maldon. No check-out instructions were given so we hope what we did was correct.
This is a great little spot and a beautiful building with so much potential, there just doesn't seem to be a lot of love put into the operation of the Church as an Airbnb accommodation.
