The space

Renovated with the idea of having a sociable, family space. Based on house deigns popular in New Zealand, but keeping the idea of comfort and warmth needed in the British climate. An ordinary house from the outside but a lovely living space and home inside.

Guest access

West Hove is where people move to for more space and quiet, but still want access to central Hove and Brighton. We are across the road from the easy cycle-ride/walk along the seafront to playgrounds, cafes and the town.

Interaction with guests

We are away during your stay but have friends and neighbours who will be happy to help you.

The neighbourhood

A particularly friendly neighbourhood, people live here because they enjoy to do so.

Getting around

The house is a 10 minute walk from Portslade station and Hove station is a 10 minute drive. London Victoria/London Bridge are just over an hour.
Frequent buses leave from New North Road and the seafront road. All go to Brighton central. Cycling/walking the seafront promenade is the nicest way to get around.

Other things to note

A perfect house for Christmas. Walk off your feast or go for a Christmas morning stroll to the beach and The View restaurant area where you'll likely find locals drinking champagne by the sea!

House Rules

We'd like you to make this your home whilst your are here, but it is our home that we need to come back to with our children. We also have neighbours with young children so noise should be kept to a respectful level. Therefore please respect our home, and absolutely no smoking or dogs in the house.

We had a wonderful Christmas in Emma and Rob's home. Even though the family were in the States, we felt so welcomed. She not only left milk in the fridge but also a bottle of bubbly for us to enjoy! Her friends and neighbours were really friendly, frequently checking that we were okay. Her house was full of quirky, interesting touches and there was a laid back and relaxed feel to her home. The beds were so comfortable and it was lovely having two modern bathrooms to use. Also, the open plan kitchen/dining area was brilliant for chilling and chatting whilst we cooked. Being so close to the sea meant that we were able to take a few brisk walks and take in a coffee along the front. Emma also accommodated all of our requests and she was a great at communicating. We can wholeheartedly recommend both Emma and the house!
