Beautiful and walkable

Guests say this area is scenic and it’s easy to get around.
Our lovely house has been a labour of love. My partner, Richard, with help from his brother, has put his heart into renovating and remodelling the house to a style we love. My part was sourcing all the retro furniture, tiles and paint colours which happens to be one of my favourite pastimes! The house reflects our quirky taste and my love of mid century furniture!
We absolutely love spending time in Bancha.

Neighbourhood highlights

Amble is an old small town built on fishing, mining, farming, and ship building (fishing boats). The mines and ship building industries have long gone, but fishing is still thriving. Amble has expanded in size over recent years, and with it the holiday industry.
We have a beautiful marina, boat yard, harbour area, beach and coast line, as well as many great pubs, bars and restaurants, most of which are a 5 to 10 minute walk from Bancha.

Bancha is perfectly situated for exploring Northumberland and the surrounding area.

The bustling working harbour, shops, pubs, award winning restaurants, sandy beach and pier walk are about a ten minute walk from Bancha.
Warkworth, with its medieval castle, river walk, pubs, restaurants and cafes is a 30 minute walk or a 5 minute drive away.

Comfortably furnished, our sunny home has three bedrooms - one king, one twin or superking depending on needs, and one single room.
We have a pretty courtyard with a table and chairs to dine outside on sunny days.

The beautiful villages of Alnmouth, Bamburgh, Seahouses, Craster, Newton by the Sea and many others are all a short distance away by car, cycle, or public transport.

Alnwick Castle and Gardens with its’ recently opened huge magical play park, Lilidorei, is a short drive away (20 minutes)
Barter Books is also in Alnwick, a huge second hand book store with open fires, fabulous Station buffet cafe, ice cream parlour, and children’s room - perfect for those less sunny days.
Puffin cruises sail daily from Amble Harbour around nearby Coquet Island.
You can also take part in water sports such as kayaking, paddle boarding, surfing, and windsurfing.
Coquet Shorebase Trust and Northside Surf School in Warkworth offer expert guidance in water sports.
A day trip to Edinburgh is very easy from Bancha, and only an hour on the train from our nearest station at Alnmouth (10 mins drive, parking £1.50)

Where I went to school: Framwellgate Moor Comp, Durham
My work: OccupationalTherapis
I’m an Occupational Therapist and Richard also works in the public sector for a local council. We both have a passion for the Northumberland countryside and beaches so Amble is the perfect base for our weekends away. Richard is the clever, practical one who can turn his hand to all sorts. I’m the faffer who’s always had a passion for all things mid century, and spends way too much time online buying second hand stuff.
