Why not book an evening in one of our four ‘New York loft’ with-a-British-twist style rooms. Featuring exposed glazed brickwork, heavy duty steel supporting beams, high ceilings, sumptuous fabrics and soft velvet furnishings these spaces provide the perfect base to visit friends, explore Oxfordshire, shop and dine at Bicester Village, use the test track facility, collect your car or tour this unique location as part of an event.
The space
Located to the rear of Building 82 – The Power House, the Crew Rooms are nestled in what used to be the power generation and pump house, distributing water and electricity around the former RAF Bicester WW2 bomber training station.
In 2013 Building 82 became the home of Alan Turing’s computer Christopher, whilst the blockbuster film The Imitation Game was filmed at Bicester Heritage. This 1926 building initially underwent restorative works in 2014 and the accommodation was completed mid-2015, providing a unique, exciting and cosy base from which to discover the Technical Site. The site was also used in the blockbuster film, Darkest Hour in 2017.
Betts is stylish and very comfortable with a double bed, shower room and tea and coffee making equipment. The ceiling is high, with steel beams, uplighting and three large windows. The room is accessed from a communal double doorway and entrance hall to the north of Building 82.
Expect a club feel with hints of Art Deco and nods to the site’s prolific RAF heritage (each room is named after a distinguished RAF Station Commander). In Bicester Heritage’s opinion this combination sits perfectly with the war-time vernacular, not to mention the astonishing four wheeled machinery that is often found sitting outside the front door.
Check in is from 4pm and and check out is 11am- please note that we are unable to offer early or late check in and check out currently due to Covid-19 cleaning.
