We were a large group of friends with spouses and kiddos, and we booked this compound of cabins for a 5 day vacation. We were hoping to all be together somewhere beautiful and this location really fit the bill! The pictures don't do it justice, this was the most incredible view I've ever seen. Jake and Erica were excellent hosts. We were so impressed by their frequent contact given they were having a baby while we were there! We loved staying there, and I have so many happy memories hanging out around the fire pit and spending time with my friends. The only downsides were: the internet did not work- which was fine, who needs the internet. Also it was super duper rustic- very bare bones accommodations. In two of the cabins, the shower was outside, and another cabin didn't have a bathroom at all. Which is again totally fine, and we loved it there, just something to be aware of going into it.

The property is situated on a hill with spectacular mountain views. Our cabin was cozy and rustic, a real Adirondak experience that included a working fireplace, twig furniture and shelves of old books and family mementos. We watched the sunset from our rocking chairs on our front porch. The entire camp has a lived in, comfy feeling reminiscent of visiting your favorite grandparents. Jake and his family were welcoming and helpful with restaurant suggestions and hiking information and easily accessible by text or phone. Hiking trails are accessible right from the property and Keene and Lake Placid are a short drive away.

Erica communicated with us beforehand and was available via cell phone/texting and we arranged a meeting that we were a little late for. Despite that she was welcoming and cheerful and showed us around the camp and then to our cabin. She explained how things worked and gave us advice for local dining and where we could shop for groceries. The cabin itself was clean and comfortable, with a vast assortment of books and a few games to pass the time. The front porch of our cabin has a stunning view out over the high peaks and became our central lounge area. The cellular phone service is Verizon-only in the Keene valley, so cell phones didn't work for us from Canada. But, we were provided with wifi that got the job done for email and texting (thanks Jake and Erica for organizing this quickly!). After this experience I can see why writers find a cabin to gather their thoughts, so maybe skip the wifi! The gentle breezes, tranquility and occasional visits from hummingbirds on the flowers, a deer in the morning and our friendly neighbor retriever Hoover made the days special. Definitiely recommended especially if planning some hikes in the area.

Jake was a wonderful host! He greeted us upon arrival - even though we got there later than expected. He gave us a tour of the entire camp and showed us the various cabins in additional to the fully equipped communal kitchen cabin before taking us to the one we reserved. The cabin (Crowe Deluxe) had exactly the rustic charm we were looking for. Basic with bed, fireplace, chair & desk, bathroom with tub & shower and closet. A lovely small deck with AMAZING views of the Adirondacks and additional chairs (facing that same view) several feet in front of the cabin. Our evenings were spent sitting in those chairs with some drinks, cheese & crackers, taking in the beautiful scenery or playing a game of Scrabble. Nights were warm and cozy in the comfortable bed even with the windows open to let in the brisk, fresh night air. All-in-all a GREAT 3 nights at the campground -- we will be back again!

If you're looking for an authentic, quintessential Adirondack camp experience, this is it. Crow Deluxe was a perfect cabin–I fell asleep next to a fire under several wool blankets and woke up with 180-degree views of the High Peaks right out the windows. It's wonderfully rustic and old, of course, but there are little luxurious touches too, like the super-plush bath mat and nice linens. The view from the entire property is something special—the pictures don't do it justice. It's less than a 30 minute drive to the trailheads for Marcy, Algonquin, etc, and very close to dozens of other trails, so it makes an ideal base camp that still feels quite removed and serene. Jake (and his family) were caring, friendly, helpful hosts and gave me plenty of space and privacy. I brought my own food and used the kitchen—I was alone on the property at the time so I didn't have to share with anyone, so can't attest to how the communal kitchen plays out. I could see this being a fantastic destination for a big group of friends/family to rent out the entire property. I hope to be back with others to do just that!
