The space

A one bedroomed luxury self catering apartment on the shore of Loch Long with amazing views over the Arrochar Alps, Argyll & Bute, Scotland. Open plan kitchen/living area, double bedroom, & large en suite shower room + car parking.
Local pub/restaurant situated within half a mile + bus and rail links. Well situated for exploring the West Coast & Highlands, but also within easy reach of Glasgow.
Loch Long is one of the longest sea lochs in the UK and apart from seeing some lovely yachts and larger vessels sailing past, we enjoy watching a variety of sea life, including seals, dolphins, otters, the occasional whale plus a wide variety of birds, and a lovely pair of swans returning to the beach once or twice a year who we've named Bertie and Betty!! The surrounding mountains are home to herds of deer who at certain times of the year can be heard roaring, with the occasional sighting on the beach and in the village! Foxes and feral cats are also frequently seen.
We have a swing mooring (free of charge) in front of the apartment for any guests wishing to visit with their boat.

Guest access

There is ample parking available, and the beach in front of our property is available for guests to access when the tide is out to walk or fish.

Interaction with guests

Once checked in we leave our guests to enjoy their stay but are always available to provide advice and assistance when required.

The neighbourhood

Total peace and tranquility, with amazing views over Loch Long and the Arrochar Alps.

Getting around

Citylink provide a regular bus service from the village (1/2 mile away) + Scotrail from the railway station situated between Arrochar & Tarbet (1 mile). Destinations and timetables can be viewed on line + tickets purchased. Bicycle hire is available from Two Stones B & B, Arrochar or Cruise Loch Lomond, Tarbet.

Carol's lodge is amazing, the views were perfect and as they were constantly changing you would never tire of them. The Lodge had everything we could want. It was immaculate and so comfortable. We would definitely recommend it to our friends and family. It was great to be able to walk to the local pub /restaurant or hop in the car and explore further afield. Thank you Carol.

This is a gem of a place, nicely secluded on the shore of Loch Long with fabulous views of "The Cobbler". It's beautiful and comfortable with everything you could ask for. Plenty of things to do and see in the area. Carol & Don are fabulous hosts who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We will be back soon I'm sure!

A very comfortable space in which to spend time with a beautiful view over Loch Long to Ben Arthur 'The Cobbler'. Carol and Don were great hosts and Arrochar is a great base for exploring the area. We had a lovely time and the only issue we had during our stay was the wifi, which was not always reliable.

Everything about the apartment is absolutely first class, from the lovely warm welcome upon arrival, the cosy apartment with the very thoughtful extra little touches, right through to the cheery send off. The apartment itself was immaculate throughout, and felt as if you were the first people to stay there. The views from the windows and balcony are simply stunning and it's very easy to spend all day watching the water, mountains and weather. There are walks that can be done from the front door or a very short drive around to a car park on the opposite side of the loch. We would highly recommend this lovely place and would most definitely stay again.

We stayed for a long weekend at Carol and Don's apartment. The view was stunning and in a beautiful area. The apartment had everything that you could need and is perfectly set up for self catering. We had a lovely time, thank you!

My husband and I moved to this idyllic location on the shore of Loch Long, Argyll & Bute, Scotland in Dec 2009. We are both retired....myself as an Occupational Health Adviser working for British Airways at Gatwick Airport, and my husband as a Health, Safety & Environmental Adviser for Emcor at Heathrow Airport. We enjoy the serenity of where we live, walking around the surrounding mountains, seeing an array of yachts and other boats sailing past and watching a wide range of sea and bird life...we even had the pleasure of seeing a bottlenose whale having a wee cheeky look at us whilst out on our deck in 2013!!
