Dingley Dell is close to All Buxton Spa Town landmarks such as the Crescent and Spa Baths, The Opera House, Pavilion Gardens and Pooles Cavern and Country Park. Walks in every direction and shops just down the road. Near a driving range and golf course, a Supermarket is a short drive a way 'Dingley Dell' is a warm and large family Victorian style town house with all the rich features of this era.
Please be aware that the accomodation is on the top floor via 2 flights of stairs.
Our house is the culmination of a dream we have held for many years... we wanted to create a home big enough for our family whilst having the option of welcoming travellers and making new friends along the way!
We love Buxton and the amazing scenery and history of this beautiful Spa town situated 1000ft above sea level in the Peak District.
We have strong links with the area, if we don't know the answer- we will know someone who does! We are very much involved in festivals and community projects... this town is vibrant and filled with culture throughout the summer months- even if we can't necessarily predict the weather!
Guests are welcome to use the main lounge downstairs, which has Sky TV, but it is a work in progress, so a rather unfinished loom! We will not be home for some periods so every room but our bedrooms and bathroom will be unused- you are welcome to take advantage of this; though no parties please (unless we are invited)
The kitchen has a designated space in the fridge for guests, but you are welcome to use any additional space in there.
The apartment is equipped with a microwave, a kettle, mugs, tea (including a selection of fruit teas), coffee, milk (kept in the main kitchen fridge) and sugar. A complementary tray containing fresh fruit and biscuits will also be there to help any diet along!
Off-road parking by the house is available by request.
Interaction with guests
We will be here most of the time, however we have a house in a nearby town which we will stay in on occasion. During periods when we are away, we have a large network of family and friends around us who will be on hand to help you :)
Other things to note
Please be aware, that this is a family home. As such, if you are looking for a silent retreat- it may not be appropriate to your needs; unless we are away (and we can chat about this as an option if you are looking for this type of holiday)
Please also be aware that the apartment is accessible via 2 flights of stairs (and a small step into the house) you will need to walk through the main house to get to your rooms- we don't mind if you don't (shoes off at the door please in order to ensure a high standard of cleanliness - brand new carpets :)
The house is situated on the corner of 2 roads- this means that it is easy to find and to get out and about, but as with any house near a road- the odd HGV may trundle past and for those mediators amongst you- your transcendental endeavours may require a reboot!
We want you to enjoy your stay, so for your safety and security we have an alarm system installed- details to be provided as necessary. THIS IS A LOW CRIME AREA- so please don't be worried about this note!
We also work very hard to keep the home environment hygienic- shoes not beyond the first flight of stairs please :-)
Hello! I am a children's nurse who works in local schools in the Spa Town of Buxton (Where Buxton Water comes from!)
We are respectful, very clean and considerate people who just cannot WAIT to start welcoming people into our bit-of-a-project BUT cosy, warm Victorian town house!
