The Cozy Coyote is pet friendly, non smoking, with free wifi and paved road access in a quiet neighborhood, yet minutes from Joshua Tree Village & National Park! Easy paved access to Pappy & Harriet's (30mins) and the JT Retreat Center (10 mins). Plan your visit with us year round, we're happy to help.

The space

Our two bedroom vacation home sleeps up to three with queen bed in Coyote Room and full bed in Quail Room, full bath with double sinks, paved/shaded parking, large covered patio, fully fenced yard. We are pet friendly! Please read section below about having your dog or cat stay.

And please, NO SMOKING at any time. (we are very allergic/sensitive)

Kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, stove, fridge, dishes, silverware, drink ware, utensils, cook set, etc. Coffee amenities (regular and decaf) tea, hot cocoa, sugars, creamers. Drinking water dispenser.

There is a desk for your laptop and free wifi, plus good cell reception at the house. Kick back and BRING YOUR DVDs, listen to the radio or your CD's, or read your book on the patio. We have Business Travel Ready status (there's an iron and ironing board in the closet). Enjoy the paintings, photography and metal art (created by your hosts and inspired by the desert). Cooler, ceiling fans, very good heating. The hosts do not live on the property, but are a few miles away.

There is a laundromat in the JT Village. Open 7 days a week.

Though the house has a fireplace, it is not in use. We do not allow any open flames like a fire pit in the yard, as it is a safety hazard and the retreat is in a high fire risk neighborhood. Thanks for your understanding.

Guest access

You must inform us of your arrival time soon as you know, so that we may greet you at the door and give you your padlock code. Guests are allowed in the house and front/back yards. Covered parking on the driveway.

Interaction with guests

Cheryl and Jimbo are available via text, calls or messages from 7am to 10pm. We are knowledgeable about the area and events and welcome your questions and suggestions.

Other things to note

PET POLICY: We feel it's important to understand why we charge for your pet. They are beings, just like us, they are family, so think of them as an "extra person". However, they are in a strange house and yard, and though most people have well trained pets, it is possible that something could get damaged or need extra cleaning, and the pet fee generalizes that contingency. We hope you'll understand. To make sure we know you read this section, please include the word "WOOFER" in your initial correspondence. One dog $25 per stay, two dogs $40 per stay. Your furry companion must be leash trained, house broken, non aggressive. Please let us know if you'll be bringing your pet ahead of time. We have a food/water dish available but please bring your pet's food, toys, bed, crate, leash, etc. Cats are cool too! Same rules/prices apply, PLUS we can provide a litter box.

Cheryl and Jimbo's Cozy Coyote Retreat was wonderful! Everything was as listed, plus they left us with a few bottles of water, a bottle of wine, and a great Joshua Tree visitor's guidebook. Cheryl and Jimbo are warm, friendly and great artists! Their house is close enough to Hwy 62 for shopping, dining and the national park—yet far enough to feel secluded and to see the starry night! We will definitely return!

Driving to town and into the park was quite easy, which makes a difference for spontaneous excursions, or precisely timed celestial events. After all that, back at the retreat, you're still in the big open desert, sky fully visible from the yard. Cheryl and Jimbo were on-point hosts, as well as resourceful with local tips. My stay was great. Ever since, I look at the ground less.

Cheryl's place is a lovely and cozy spot in the town of Joshua Tree, easily accessible to the town and park. Cheryl met us there and was more than accommodating; everything was taken care of and she was very responsive during our trip. The pictures really don't do the place justice, the bedrooms are great, there is ample relaxing and working space and the outdoor patio area is amazing. It's also a great value. Thank you guys!

Lovely cozy home close to the entrance of Joshua Tree national park and the town. Cheryl and Jimbo were so helpful, meeting us to welcome us into the home and answering questions promptly. We had a wonderful one-week stay over New Year's Eve. Thank you, Cheryl and Jimbo, for being such great hosts!
