Very pretty location. Well equipped cottage in a lovely peaceful setting. Very dog friendly, secure areas for letting your dog play safely. Peter and Jayne are incredibly friendly and helpful hosts, nothing seems to much trouble. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it to all our friends.

Lovely cosy charming cottage. We had a lovely stay. Everything you need is there and the home baked cake was a welcome addition.

Lovely cottage, lovely location, made to feel welcome then left on our own to enjoy the trip, although Peter was on hand if we needed anything. Lovely little escape.

The cottage is lovely, we had a wonderful week and would definitely return. We did struggle with locating the cottage once we arrived in Lee and think some more markers and directions on the listing would be a great help. The cottage was clean and bright. The cake was a welcome addition when we arrived. The cottage was well equipped and a good size for the 4 for us. We did find the cottage a little too warm at times and struggled with managing the temperature via the radiators, especially the bathroom. We had a great week with the weather and did use the decking and chairs outside. It's a lovely peaceful place and the views are great and the conkers are huge!!

Just spent a wonderful week at Chestnut Cottage. Setting fantastic with good walking around. Our host Peter was very quick to help us when we had a problem with the shower and when the Internet went down. His wife cooked the most delicious Victoria sponge that welcomed us when we arrived. Hope to come back next Autumn as loved the area. Highly recommend

When my husband and I booked we said we would almost certainly want a second week. Peter advised us just to book the first week and decide about the second after arrival. When we arrived we wanted to book it but it had been taken. This cost us time, inconvenience and money. Having stopped us booking with that advice we should at least have been given first chance to actually book that week once someone else was interested. As my husband had recently recovered from surgery and is partially disabled this left me with a great deal of stress to deal with.

Response from Peter:
Bridget and John were great guests, no problems with them when i met them and they left the cottage clean and tidy and promptly. There was obviously some misunderstanding with the booking, Bridgets message read(quote)''We are intending to settle in the area, and so will need somewhere to stay while looking around. It would be for a week minimum, but maybe we would want to extend the stay if that is possible.'' which is pretty vague, if she wanted to book further weeks, she could have done so there and then, but as is often the case with house hunters, they don't know how long they will need, we are happy for guests to book for as long as they need. we apologise if this misunderstanding caused inconvenience, however it is up to guests to book their stay with us, not the other way round
