Neighbourhood highlights

Feltwell is a small friendly, diverse village with a thriving community.

The village has a small primary school which was originally built as a hospital, it was converted into a school during the post World War 2 building period to cope with the 1946-48 "baby-boom".

There are two pubs, The Chequers and The Wellington aptly named, paying homage to the Wellington bombers that flew from Feltwell in World War 2...both pubs are both very popular spots for the village locals and visitors, there is also a thriving social club.

The village hosts two shops where you can buy pretty much everything, a post office, a hairdressers, gym, play school, a craft shop with many home made items especially for children plus a children's play area for all ages.

There is also an 18-hole golf course open to members and non-members. and two churches St Mary's and St Nicholas plus a Methodist Chapel.

Feltwell is adjacent to the air base where the schools and some support services are located. RAF Feltwell hosts the annual 4th of July Firework display open to members of the local community.

Neighbouring American Airbases, Lakenheath and Mildenhall also have some involvement with the social gatherings in the village, which is welcomed and appreciated by the local community .

The village lies near the border of Cambridgeshire and Suffolk. It is 21 miles south of King’s Lynn and 13 miles south of Downham Market although it is closer to Thetford (14 miles) and Ely (19 miles).
