The beautiful and spacious Casa Pilar in Hermigua is a traditional »Casa Rural«, which simply means "country house". The house has several garden terraces and a roof terrace.

The space

On the first floor of the house - with its garden terraces on the back of the house - is the spacious "Pilar" apartment for four people.

The apartment is composed of two bedrooms, two bathrooms with bathtub, a cozy and fully equipped kitchen with direct access to the sunbathing area (at breakfast time), a small living room with Spanish satellite TV and a comfortable couch. The living room leads directly into the garden area.

Several, very beautifully landscaped terraces welcome the visitor, always one is ideal for the respective time of the day - depending on whether you are looking for sun or shade. From the large roof terrace you can see the whole valley down to the sea - it is suitable for extensive sunbaths as well as exercise place for Yogabegeisterte - even a small group would find enough exercise area here. The barbecue terrace with a sink, a stone bench and a large Table with chairs invites you to long, cozy evenings. The lovingly and characteristically designed rooms offer their visitors a very nice, well-kept atmosphere - enjoy your time out in a very special place.

If you want to stay in a nice traditional Canarian house, this would be a great opportunity. House is really great, very clean, with a lot of space in the house and also outside. Nice barbique and also many other amenities. Highly recommended if you want to enjoy Hermingua valley.

Casa Pilar is in a wonderful location, right in the middle of Hermigua which is a quiet village in the Hermigua valley. The house has lots of character and was very comfortable with basic but adequate amenities. The terrace was fantastic - wonderful views for breakfast, and a very good barbecue for dinner. The village itself had a number of very good restaurants. Would highly recommend Tasco Telemacho and also El Faro which is down at the bottom of the valley overlooking the shore.

We loved staying in Hermigua and the beautiful and very cosy yellow house. Everything in the house is neat and sufficient. Nice terrasses to both sides and stairs up to the house, so necessary to park in the local public parking very near by. We thought the house was a very good offer considering the price, and Pilar is a perfect host, always helpful but never intruding although living next door. Some Spanish language is helpful, but am sure it would also work without. The town is lovely and has nice and good value for money restaurants and a couple of supermarkets. The landscape and views are stunning and undescribable. Would love to come back. Highly recommended.

This was a lovely place to stay - Gerlinde was very helpful prior to our arrival giving us information about our stay. Pilar was lovely and very welcoming - it did help that we had some Spanish, but I got the impression she would do her best even if you didn't speak Spanish. All the little terraces and the well-tended greenery made all of the spaces a lovely place to be - my son spent a happy hour juicing the fallen passion fruit and we picked up a fallen avocado from the path in front. We were glad of the hire car that we had - although I think local buses were frequent, we only had a week and a car made it much easier to go where we wanted when we wanted. Although parking wasn't on site, it was easy and handy. There was information on La Gomera in the apartment (though some of it was rather dated) but Pilar gave us some suggestions of where to go - we particularly enjoyed our trip up to the highest point of the island (we were lucky to get a clear day) and our visit to Vallehermoso was good too. La Gomera itself was a great place to visit - unspoilt compared to other Canary Islands that we've visited, with some stunning scenery and friendly locals. We ate out every night and had some lovely fish dishes (we don't eat meat) - we even managed to (mostly) please a teenage palate! Locally we particularly liked El Faro near the beach and Las Chacaras up the valley. Having tried Playa Santiago, Valle Gran Rey and San Sebastian, we decided that La Caleta, just over from Hermigua, was the nicest beach - a lovely little sheltered cove with a bar/cafe to get food, beer and ice cream. We would definitely come back here, both to La Gomera and to Pilar's place - a walking holiday would be good as there seemed to be an extensive network of waymarked paths (though some of us would need to be a lot fitter to deal with those steep hills!) Altogether highly recommended!
