Shared outdoor patio with private parking and Tesla/BMW electric car charger. Walk 6 blocks to the subway (green B-line T). 2nd floor unit. Near the Boston Marathon route.

The space

Imagine being at a luxury vacation spot with a spa shower, steam sauna, double shower heads, heated bathroom floor, and a massage at anytime! An entire 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment to your very own. Open concept living room, dining, and kitchen. The luxury kitchen features a custom white countertop, 5-burner gas cooking, double drawer dishwasher, disposal, and huge eat on island/prep-station. The luxury bathroom features a walkin shower for 2 – double rain showerheads with a steam spa inside, and a heated tile floor that auto-warms with a Nest thermostat.

This is a 2nd floor unit – no elevator. The exterior (we mention this as we want to ensure you when you walk up to the building, it may seem underwhelming, until you get inside the unit, you'll be pleasantly surprised) is going to be undergoing renovations soon.

The calendar shows the true availability for the unit - and thus what is available, is shown as such and your request will likely be approved very quickly. There are sliders from each bedroom to a small private connecting deck for some outdoor fresh air.

The bathroom is a walkin shower with double rainheads and 6 body sprays, with a steam spa.

Laundry is in the unit, in the 2nd bedroom closet and free to use. You can utilize the laundry detergent, bleach, and dryer sheets.

Please no parties or loud music at any time - and loud noises before 9am or after 10pm, in consideration for our neighbors below the unit.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave, double dishwasher, rice cooker, coffee maker (with coffee/tea/cocoa/sugar/cream) - and a few basics of ramen and mac & cheese ;).

There are also board games and card games for your enjoyment.

The space can fit 8 comfortably (2 on each queen bed and 1 on each twin bunk) and then extra people: 1-2 on the pull out sofa (it's full size) - though it will be very tight with the sofa open - also remember only 1 bathroom for all to use). 1 queen size bed in 2 of the back bedrooms, the sofa turns into a queen bed. The 3rd bedroom has 2 sets of bunk beds (so 4 twin size beds total - each one can comfortably fit an adult).

There is both central heat and central air conditioning, controlled by a Nest system, so will be very comfortable anytime of the year.

IMPORTANT:

This is not a party pad as this is our home and there are many families that live on premises, next door, as well as are hosted by us and we as well as they will not hesitate to call the police if there are any hints of a party. We are trusting you to treat our property with the same respect as your own.

NO parties or loud music at any time, no smoking period - and definitely no loud noises before 9am or after 10pm, in consideration for our neighbors above, below, and to each side of the unit. The existence of Airbnb depends upon the kind consideration of our neighbors - please help us keep up good community relations. In an effort to help ensure you have quiet and peaceful enjoyment during your stay, we have surveillance video cameras in all the common areas of the building - of course, none inside the units. Breaking these rules forfeits your stay and your deposit and a fine of $2000/day of your reservation (this is how serious we take it)

Please enjoy your stay! Thanks!

Guest access

The entire unit (kitchen, bathroom, living room, both bedrooms), and in-unit laundry. Parking is available too.

Keyless entry system. As your arrival date nears, 1 day prior, you will be sent a message with instructions for electronic keycode access. Check in time is 3pm, and check out time is 12pm - that gives us a 3 hour window to have my cleaning crew fully clean, disinfect, change sheets, for your arrival and the guest coming in after you. You can check in anytime thereafter. Please note that this also means that the 11am check out must be strictly adhered to on your last day, we may have another guest checking in that afternoon, and need time for our cleaning people to do the same. Unlike a hotel that has multiple rooms to shuffle around, I just have this one.

Interaction with guests

This is a fully contained private apartment so there is no need for direct interaction with guests, though we do like to meet you and you will see us around the building doing maintenance, etc.. You may call/text/email through here anytime as well.

Before you arrive and after you leave, our cleaning crew will come in to clean and disinfect everything, replace all the sheets with newly clean ones.

Please remember that check in time is 3pm and check out is 11am - this is important because we often have guests check in/out on the same days, back-to-back.

Other things to note

TO HELP US ENSURE YOU HAVE A QUIET, PEACEFUL, AND ENJOYABLE TIME WHILE STAYING WITH US, WE WOULD LIKE YOU TO KNOW THE FOLLOWING APPLIES FOR ALL GUESTS WE HOST:

1. We ask you to remove your shoes while inside the units. Boston homes are full of charm, but are also some of the oldest in the country and thus the walls and floors are thin – and sound travels. Removing your shoes helps to both protect our floors, but also ensures the people below you also quietly enjoy their stay.
2. No loud noises before 9am and after 10pm. As noted above, sound travels. Our unit has a device by Netatmo, called the Home Health Coach, and it measures air quality/pollution, humidity, temperature, and noise levels – and amongst other things, alerts us when noise levels get too high. Sounds are NOT recorded though.
3. For your safety, we also have a Leeo which monitors for the smoke alarm and carbon monoxide alarms and notifies us if they sound off, so as to keep you safe. We get notified if an alarm goes off in the unit.
4. We strictly DO NOT allow parties. Breaking this particular rule forfeits your stay and your deposit and a fine of $2000/day of your reservation (this is how serious we take it) and we will not hesitate to throw you out.
5. All of the COMMON areas, lobby, laundry room, rear common stairs, trash room, exterior, have surveillance video cameras that also detects noise levels. Of course, there are NONE inside the units.
6. Before you arrive, your profile on here must have the green verification checkmark on it and have uploaded a government issued identification to your profile (under Trust & Safety section). This lets us know who you are, and also ensures that you take full responsibility to abide by these important rules.

Upon your confirmed reservation, you agree to abide to by these terms as it will help to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment for you and everyone around you. The existence of Airbnb depends upon the kind consideration of our neighbors - please help us keep up good community relations.

It's walking distance (10 mins) from a green-line (B) subway T stop that will take you to downtown Boston and Cambridge. There is also a bus stop right out front.

For groceries, there is a Whole Foods Market just one more block past the subway stop (7 blocks away), so about 12 minutes walk. There is also two more regular supermarkets but they are a little father away, called Stop & Shop and another called Star Market – you can look them up online.

PARKING IN THE AREA:

This unit comes with ONE parking spot INCLUDED – it is directly behind the building, next to the blue recycling bins (there is also an electric car charger right there that you may use if you have that type of car).

If you need to park more than 1 car, then you must park on the street. This is the CITY, so parking will be a little tight at times. Generally during the daytime you will be prohibited from parking unless you have a parking pass. Evenings and weekends are open parking and anyone can park, but it will be tougher to find an available spot as most residents are home by then.

You MUST pay attention to all the SIGNS.

If you do get a parking ticket, you can pay them (email hidden) – and you should do it before you turn in your rental car.

On all streets, there is regular street cleaning times - they alternate on different streets, on different days, and either a morning slot or afternoon slot. They are as posted on the signs on that block (they apply to the entire block). You MUST pay attention to all the SIGNS.

There is also Uber that can pickup/dropoff and is fairly inexpensive to downtown Boston. Approx $15 Uber ride to the Boston Convention Center (BCEC), downtown Boston. UberPool and Lyft are great choices, assuming it's not during surge pricing.

If you do need to pay for parking, use the SpotHero app to locate something, (website hidden)

And for unlimited subway (MBTA or "T"): (website hidden)_and_passes/passes/

Or Uber for private car pickup and dropoff service. Get a free ride using my link: (website hidden)

Or Lyft, a similar private car pickup and dropoff service. Here's $20 toward your first Lyft ride (website hidden)

TV

The TV is hooked up to an Apple TV (HDMI 2) and regular Cable TV (HDMI 1). To use the Apple TV, you will need to use the controller for the TV and turn it on and be sure it's still on HDMI 2 . Then use the silver Apple TV remote and press any button to turn that on - wait a few seconds. There are then icons on the screen, you can login into your own itunes account if you wish (just remember to log out when you leave), or your own Netflix and Hulu accounts. There are a few apps that are already activated like ABC, etc, and they should login automatically, but if they don't, please call me (phone number hidden) and I can remotely refresh the account. There are also free channels like Red Bull TV, and some others - feel free to explore. The movies at the top require you to purchase them using your own itunes account.

In an effort to help ensure you have quiet and peaceful enjoyment during your stay, we have surveillance video cameras in all the common areas of the building (which also detect loud audio) - of course, none inside the units. Boston buildings tend to be old classic structures, but with thin walls, so noise travels very easily. This also means please no lingering outside the house late at night. We don't want to our neighbors worrying about a lot of foot traffic coming and going.

Mac was great with his communication and expectations. House is very easy to get in to. Beds were all super comfy with tempurpedic mattresses. The whole space is very high tech and fun. Massage chair is a must try. Best shower I've ever had with the 2 waterfall shower heads, steamer, and wall sprayers.

This was my first time using Airbnb and they did a great job to make us feel welcome and the person who greeted us was very nice, he was able to tell us how to get around. The place was exactly as advertised and was great place to stay, all the furnishings were newer and very nice. We loved the massage chair! We had a great time and was easy to get to the transit from the house.
