I appreciate your public feed back and always look into anything that is important to be changed. I have had 6 back to back bookings since you were here all with 5 stars and no complaints however I like to know what people see so I can add that to the printout sheet for guests. You obviously did not actually read the sheet and many of your questions can be found clearly on the sheet along with restaurants and river walk, and swimming pool, all within one mile of the listing.
I did change out the low voltage speaker cord that seems to be your concern and rerouted it. I have 8 sets of speakers in 2 rooms here and many of the cords that run to the speakers
are tucked away to the best of my ability. The other 12 volt lights are connected to a pig tail with one easy switch to turn off or on. (this is written on that sheet)
When people arrive I tell them that I am a short phone call away if they need some questions answered or help with anything. (please call if you have a question) Leaving a low star rating after the fact seems sort of counter productive seeing that Air b n b is all about cooperation and community. I would have thought that mentioning a great time here would reflect higher than a 3 star rating for seemingly minor issues. I work super hard at making guests happy while staying here while staying out of their way.
Air b n b does not inform guests of single or couple status. Seeing that you had 4 guests I figured that it was 2 couples coming. Great idea to ask in advance about sleeping set ups.
I happen to be a licensed electrical contractor and assure you other than the speaker wires and the 12 volt lighting set up there are no hazards for guests. The city also issues a license to hosts once per year. They inspect properties for fire safety and things of that nature.
As you recall you mentioned having left food out on the dining room table and it attracted a few sugar ants which have not come back at all after your departure. I took care of that on your request immediately. As far as cock roaches, we pour Clorox bleach down the drains between guests and have covers on the kitchen drains which you took off. After you checked out I noticed a plate with food on it that you left in the sink. There is also a sign not to leave food in the sink or open out in the dining areas. This is basic sanitary sense for most house holds in America. (Asia, India, maybe not so much)
Of all of the guests I have had I worked the hardest with a smile on my face to make you
and your guests happy.
1. Purchased and brought in Extra swamp cooler 60 minutes after you noticed the heat wave.
2. Explaining the lights to you personally in the bedroom and living room. Lamp is to the right of the bed. Reach under and flip the switch on or off.
3. Sweeping up the 15 small sugar ants that have not returned after your departure.
4. Dealing with one cock roach after the fact, as you left a plate with food on it in the sink.
My sense in this response is that I look at everything people write to me and the ones I can fix, change, or eliminate I do so. I am not willing to have fewer lights around the place although many of them operate on low voltage solar. There are a few cords around.
Just like Meow Wolf, people come here and I have a following of people that love the lights and the G scale train that is on the property (300) feet of track and the swimming pool down the street. You and your guests seemed a bit reserved so I figured you would not be interested in all of the great things this listing has to offer. Some like to be undisturbed so I leave them alone. Others like to chat a bit, and some love hanging out and enjoy asking me questions about my amazing space and how it came about.
Seeing that I immediately took care of all of your requests and concerns immediately,
Leaving a low star rating after the fact seems sort of counter productive to Air b n b's position of cooperation and community spirit. I also state in my listing that my place is not for everyone. People that like a hotel environment should rent a hotel at double the price down town.
Thanks for staying here. I am happy that you say you had a great time.
