Phearun was fab at communicating with us before and during our stay and even picked us up early morning from our bus stop. He arranged various travel for us through out our stay too. The room was clean, big and comfortable. He grabbed us a massive load of fruit for our vegan brekkie too. We'd booked his place partly to see some of the work he does in the community, we hired him for 6 hours and enjoyed a lunch with his family in the countryside, visit to a family he's helped and a visit to a school he volunteers at as part of our package, as well as a fun scooter ride with him and his cousin out there and he helped us pick up our Angkor wat tickets. Phearun is doing a unique thing with his hosting in that he wants people to know about his local Cambodia and get them involved in helping however they can. We'd recommend!

I highly recommend Phearun's place to anyone who wants to experience the real Siem Reap and local areas. The area is very quiet but still only a 10-15 minute walk to the City. Phearun is very attentive and generous and is always on hand to help. As a vegan, I was slightly worried I would not find any suitable food outlets but Phearun recommended and took me to a couple of restaurants which he knew and the food was excellent. Phearun and his friends are very active in the local community and surrounding countryside, volunteering their time to help families in need. The best experience for me of this trip was spending an afternoon with a Cambodian family in the countryside. They cooked us an incredible lunch made with ingredients from the own garden and for a short while I really experienced the local culture. As a thank you, I decided to donate them some money to help them get their rotten wooden floor and walls fixed as the family had very little. You would not find an experience like this just staying at a hotel. This for me made the trip and that memory will last forever. If you would like a similar experience, Phearun's place is a must for you!

Amazing stay with Phearun. He was a great and very friendly host. He organized a day tour to Angkor which was very nice! I found out that he does some charity work as well and I wish I knew before so I could have gotten involved. He supports the poor children on the country side and builds public toilets for the poor. Its good to know that your money goes to something like this. Phearun took me around to meet some of the kids and sisters who run a charity for childrens, which was a great experience. If I could have stayed a week to support hos activities I would have! The room was nice, clean and comfortable. Would definitely reccomend staying here.

My partner and I stayed with Phearun between the 6th and 11th of December, 2015. From the beginning Phearun was very welcoming and hospitable, and had arranged a tuc tuc to pick us up from the airport. The room was large, with a decent bed, air con and a fan, and the building itself was in a quiet area which insured a decent night's sleep. For our first full day, Phearun kindly let us use some bikes to explore Angkor Wat and some surrounding temples for the day. Phearun also runs a motorbike tour service, which we used on our second and third days in order to see some more temples and a Khmer fishing village. All the money Phearun makes from this, he uses to help out an orphanage he works with. We helped him prepare packages of gifts for the kids, and had planned on joining him on our last day to give the gifts to the children. Unfortunately, my partner got sick so we couldn't join. Phearun was really nice, and brought us food and medication, and invited us to join him and his family for dinner. Overall, our stay with Phearun was very enjoyable and I feel we got to experience Cambodia in a way that tourists usually don't. Phearun is a genuinely nice guy, and made us feel like friends, as opposed to guests throughout our stay. Definitely recommended!

Phearun and family were very hospitable and work hard to ensure their guests have a comfortable stay. For a relatively small fee he showed me around the temples, a large proportion of that money goes towards helping children in the local area with education, healthcare etc. The room was basic yet clean and functional. Thanks to the host I managed to get to see a side of local Cambodian life. If anyone wishes to get involved in helping the community during their stay then Phearun is a very good contact.

Place was okay. Lighting was not that good, and a couple bugs, but nothing more then you would expect. A kid once opened my door while I was in bed with my fiance, that was kind of weird, but I don't think it was malicious, just a kid making a mistake.
