About this listing
An extremely comfortable & well equipped 4 bed holiday house, with glorious rural, riverside views, private waterside access & large gardens. It is located just a few miles from the bustling harbour town of Fowey. A great spot for a family holiday.
Penpoll is a much loved family holiday home in a tranquil and beautiful setting. All of the bedrooms have views of Penpoll Creek running directly in front of the cottage, where particularly at low tide, children can paddle safely, build dams, and feed the resident ducks and swans. The surrounding wild orchards and gardens are complete with abundant birdlife, and views of the beautiful rolling hills beyond.
There are perfect parent hideaway terraces and suntraps for essential downtime!
Please see our website for a more detailed description of the house and ideas of activities to do in the area:
Guests have access to the whole cottage and gardens.
There is space outside to park 2-3 cars.
Due to the steep steps leading up to and around the cottage, Penpoll is not suited to disabled access.
The small village of Lerryn is a five minute drive away, which lies opposite Lerryn Woods - a fantastic spot for walking, famous for inspiring 'The Wind in the Willows'.
A huge variety of coastal walks and beaches are a short drive away, and the town of Fowey is accessible by car ferry from Bodinnick. The working harbour of Fowey is full of art galleries, restaurants and shops with a unique character, and views of the bustling Fowey Estuary.
Penpol has direct access to Penpoll Creek, leading to the River Fowey, where small dinghies can be launched at high tide.
Larger boats can be launched at Penmarlam, located one mile from Penpoll.
I'm afraid we can only accept pets after a discussion with me, and there is an additional charge of £10 per night.
Penpoll is not suitable for groups of students or stag or hen parties.
