So's house is conveniently located between Honmura Port and the Benesse Art Site. All distances are walkable and the bus stop is just around the corner, so it is very convenient. It's preferable to like cats if you stay here as they play around at night but they were all very cute. So is a quiet, discreet host who will leave you to do your own thing.

Lovely house, great location, quiet and So is a lovely host - helpful and polite. Some aspects could do with better cleanliness. If you don't like cats, don't stay there - they rule the house!

I had a very pleasant stay here. The location is very good, as it's right next to a bus stop. The entire island is very walkable though, so I found myself walking to most locations. Benesse House Art Site is only about a 15-20 minute walk away and there are multiple beaches within ten minutes walking. The house and room were both very charming and spacious. However, if you stay here, you should definitely be a cat person because there are four of them. I'm used to cats being hyper and making noise at night, but if you're not, you may want to bring ear plugs. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is not bothered by cats.

Great authentic Japanese place, So is a great host, cats liked to play outside our room at night but we like cats so, all good. Nice quiet location, spacious room, So kindly gave out luggage a lift up to the harbour, and we love the drawing his girlfriend did for us. Very cool.

One of our favourite stays so far in Japan!  So is a wonderful host who goes above and beyond to ensure you have a fantastic stay. He picked up our bags at the port so that we could easily get around the island by foot and bus. We joined him later in the afternoon for tea and home made cookies which were lovely and he was always available whenever we needed help, clarification or advice. His apartment was very traditional and the photos don't do it justice.  It is tidy and comfortable and we especially enjoyed our soak in the tub after a long day exploring the island and the comfy beds and aircon to keep us warm! We would highly recommend staying here and heading to the local okonomiyaki as others have also suggested :)

So is the loveliest person we've met since we're in Japan, he went out of his way to make sure we had the best possible time in Naoshima ! His house is very traditional and filled with his beautiful artworks and his 4 very well behaved cats, it was a great stay ! The house is well located, very close to Honmura, and we could also walk to all of the museums and to Myamura, and there is a delicious restaurant right at the corner !
