About this listing
Our charming one bedroom house is nestled in a courtyard in the white-washed village of Olvera. Surrounded by stunning countryside, experience life in a Spanish village with easy access to surrounding villages and major centres. The house is a registered Vivienda Rural.
On the landing between the dining room and the bedroom is a comfortable sofa and side tables with Moroccan lamps. From here you can see out onto the street and enjoy the views over the mountains from the patio. The area is small but light and sunny.
There is a separate dining area that will comfortably sit two to four people (and plenty of tapas dishes). There is a coal effect fire/heater for winter.
The Kitchen is self-contained and tiled in a Spanish style and fitted with an electric hob, fridge and plenty of marble work surfaces on which to create that culinary masterpiece !
There is a comfortable double bed and what better way to start your day than by savouring the view of the mountains from the patio doors. There is a clothes rack and drawers to store your belongings.
The full-size bathroom has a toilet, wash basin and bath as well as a shower (over the bath).
From the dining room, there are steps up to the Utility Area which is fitted with a washing machine. There is also an iron and ironing board.
Double patio doors lead to a private terrace where you can relax, read, eat, or..have a little siesta. Please note the terrace is inward looking so while it is a lovely outdoor space don't expect to see the sweeping views of the countryside.
Our management team will be there to meet you and check you in to the property but please no late arrivals after 10pm without prior approval. All bed linen and towels are supplied.
Interaction with guests
You will have the whole house to yourself but should you need any assistance our management team are close by (just a few streets away).
The village of Olvera is the larger of the pueblo blanco's (while villages) found in this part of Andalucia. As you approach the village the characteristic cathedral and moorish castle at the top of town looms large. The maze of winding streets below offer hours of exploration and there are numerous small bars and cafes to visit along the way. The town has all the major facilities and services you could need.
Just outside of Olvera is the delightful via verde which is a paradise for cyclists and walking enthusiasts. Hire a bike or pack your walking poles and spend a few hours riding/walking through stunning countryside, through disused railway tunnels and over viaducts. Bird watching, paragliding and horse riding activities are also available in the local area. In the summer, enjoy a picnic beside one of the nearby lakes.
Just a short drive away you will discover other quaint villages including Sentenil de las Bodegas, El Gastor, Zahara, Grazalema and many more. The historical and breathtaking city of Ronda is also only approximately 30 minutes away.
The closest airports are Malaga and Seville and hire car facilities are available at each. Private transport is recommended so that you can easily access all that the area has to offer. However, the main centres of Seville, Malaga, Jerez, Cordoba, Granada and Cadiz are also accessible by public transport. To reach these major centres takes between 1-2 hours.
