Rita of LikeLisboa runs a few apartments in the same building (and the building beside it), so when we arrived, she showed us to another apartment, Apartamento Baixa (https://www.airbnb.com.sg/rooms/9769122?s=zYOLfNQO), and not the one we booked (Estúdio Estrela). Thus, this review is really in reference to Apartamento Baixa, which is on the first level of the building. With our heavy luggage, that was actually a bit of a relief to learn, as the building has no elevator.
The guests before us were still occupying the apartment when we got there, but Rita very quickly sorted that out, and allowed us to leave our luggage outside while we headed out so that we don't have to wait around for the apartment to be cleaned. When we came back in the evening, our luggage was already moved into the apartment and neatly placed aside.
The apartment was well kept, and clean. It is furnished with everything you need for a short stay - electric kettle, cutlery, plates, cups, hair dryer etc. The kitchen is spacious and modern, so those who like to cook their own meals will appreciate it.
The beds were comfortable enough, but unfortunately, my friend and I did not have a good night's sleep mainly due to the glaring light from the street lamp right in front of the apartment's window. There was a curtain over the window, but it is somewhat translucent, so it didn't keep the light out.
I reckon some people can sleep in a lit space, but my friend isn't one of them, thus, she was kept awake the entire night. I also found the glare a tad too strong. Perhaps it would help if the window can be covered up with an opaque curtain instead.
The noise in the street can also easily be picked up, but I suppose that's only something to note if you are easily affected by sound.
The location of the apartment is ideal. It's smack right in the heart of town, and transportation connections to pretty much the whole of Lisboa is readily available. One can walk in a few minutes to Martim Moniz, Rossio and Restauradores metro station. Tram 15 takes you to Belem.
Rita is a friendly, accommodating host. She tries her best to make your stay smooth and pleasant.
