We stayed her for 2 weeks with our three children. Probably our best rental house so far. Fabulous location and a lovely house. The kitchen facilities were great with absolutely everything we needed; including a nice big freezer and 5 ring cooking range. The wood-burning stove is a lovely addition and our kids were praying for a cold night so that we could light it. We are really hoping to come back to stay here again and would highly recommend it.

Absolutely love this place. Such a peaceful setting but convenient for lovely walking like going up Kinder scout. The house is spacious but cosy and with all the amenities you could want. Even a telescope for stargazing! There's a nice looking pub just down the road and Hayfield village itself is only a few minutes further on. I would happily stay here again immediately.

Loved the cottage - really comfy beds and everything you could need. Fantastic wood burning stoves to sit in front of after long walks up the hills, couldn't have been more perfect! Would highly recommend!!

This is a cosy house in a superb location. The views from the windows across the valley are stunning and we loved hearing the sheep in the fields surrounding us when we woke up in the morning. You can walk on some of the best routes in the Peaks right from the door (and to the local pub!) The conversion of the house has been done very sympathetically so you have modern comforts without losing the feel of a hill farm. Mike was a very helpful host. Our family had a great time and we hope to return soon.

Lovely house in a lovely location. The house is old but has been refurbished to give a nice clean bright and cheerful look. It is a simple but elegant interior with good quality finish and spacious airy rooms. A great place to relax. Beautiful views from the house as it is located amongst wooded hills. Also a great location for walking as you have easy access to Kinder Scout. We did some very pleasant circular walks from the house including one provided in the information file taking you around the Reservoir and up onto Kinder. Terrific place

Harold's Farm is a great cottage that is deceptively large. The living area is fantastic, the kitchen is well equipped including with a good set of knives! We were supplied with an ample amount of kiln dried logs. The bedrooms were spacious and mattresses were very comfortable. The location is perfect for those who are looking for a good view and access to easy walks. There are a number of good pubs near by and the village has a butcher, general store and cafe. We have rented 9-10 cottages across the UK and this was one of the best!

In short: Harold's Farm was a delightful place to stay and ideal for a walking weekend, as a family or a small group. The house was extremely comfortable and well-equipped, with two large double rooms, one with en-suite, and a smaller room with twin single beds. The kitchen was well equipped and was perfect for cooking for a group, with the large dining room (complete with enormous log-burner and stereo). The small living room can seat four, no more, but again with a log fire and modern TV/entertainment system was very cosy. Wi-fi was an unexpected bonus . The house is based at the foot of a number of great day-walks, including Kinder Scout. In a small hamlet on the outskirts of Hayfield, this was a beautiful place to stay. A short walk to the Sportsman Inn, (Thwaites beer, average food) or a mile or so into Hayfield where there are another few pubs and places for food (Royal Hotel probably edged the Pack Horse). Hayfield had a couple of little shops, so good for the basic essentials. Michael provided perfect instructions on how to check-in, which was entirely flexible for a late-night arrival. We didn't even need to meet! So many thanks for a seamless, and very enjoyable stay.

Response from Michael:
Hi Tim, Thanks for the kind review. Also, thanks for leaving open the oven doors as it prompted me to check and clean the oven when I was down there this afternoon...and then I drove home and read your review but the job is now done! Sorry for the smoke, I will tell the housekeeper to check in future. Will take some pics of the twin room too. So glad you enjoyed your stay...and please come back again anytime. Thanks again, Mike
