Balina House is a paradise for art and nature lovers. It is located in art village of Mas, Ubud, 10 min away from the town center. Owned by a family of wood carving artists and surrounded by nature, you will find your own peace here.

The space

The Balina House is an artist eco house with antique features and modern amenities. It is located in Mas Village; about 6-km/10 min drive south of Ubud. It is right in the backyard of all the exciting hustle and bustle of Ubud town, yet has peace of its own. There is complete privacy, with a zen garden in the front yard, and all the rooms opening to the tropical jungle in the back. You wake up naturally to birds chirping and wind brushing against palm trees, not to the sound of traffic or roosters or 4 AM temple chanting.

The paths inside the residence are paved with cobble stone, like the old Balinese roads. Balina House is a perfect place for a family holiday, or just some peaceful personal time in paradise.

Guest access

You will have access to the pool-level of the Balina House through a private entrance, leading to one of two spacious, air-conditioned bedrooms on bottom floor. You will wake up facing the large, daily-cleaned pool with tropical breezes brushing against palm trees in the back. There is a large, open air chilling space between your room and the pool. The chilling space is roofed and has a fan, with a fully equipped kitchen, two large reclining couch on both sides and a table suitable for dining, working or as a serving table when you have guests around for a pool party. The backdoor behind the pool opens to a jungle, so you are literally living in midst of nature, but from the feedback of past guests and our own experiences, the bottom floor of the Balina House does not get that buggy. (Be mindful though, you will see geckos around quite a lot. Welcome to Bali!)

The bedroom itself is air-conditioned, with a comfortable king-sized bed and new, high quality linen. The glass doors are slide-open, key-locked, with two layers of curtains, so you both have privacy and enjoy the tropical view without stepping outside your room in the morning. You can find a dressing table inside the room, and a full-sized closet with locks and a mirror (large enough to hide three people). There is also an open-air shower in the back of the rooms.

One last but important note: as mentioned, there are TWO rooms on the bottom floor of Balina. You can rent them both or singularly. This means that there is a chance that you will share the pool and the chilling space and the bathroom with another guest (it rarely happens). If you want complete privacy (own entrance, own working space, etc.), the main house upstairs can accommodate your needs. Or if you’re traveling with other people, ask us about the rental of the entire downstairs (exclusively access to the pool, private entrance, complete privacy!)

Our staff will come to clean your room and the pool daily. Fresh towels and beddings are provided daily. Fresh drinking water is provided, as well as high speed Wi-Fi. Continental, American and Indonesian breakfast can be arranged, but if you want to make your own, just ask!
