Beautiful 1 Bedroom minutes to SFO and Downtown (Can sleep up to 4). Private seperate 1 bedroom apartment in a nicely remodeled 1906 Victorian Home with 1 car parking. This property is located in South San Francisco 1 mile from the airport, 8 miles to Downtown San Francisco.

The space

Parking: located at the rear of the house on 2nd lane. 2nd lane is an Alley street that parallels Baden. As you drive down 2nd Lane, the house will be past half way down the street ON THE LEFT – (usually there is a black JEEP Commander or a small BMW convertible) you’ll see TALL white fence. You can park directly in front of the garage door space (disregard the “no parking sign”). This will be your parking for your stay. If you have a 2nd car this would have to be on the streets or in the parking lot across from the house ($3 per day).

After parking – head through gates, pass the first and second building head toward the front of the land. You’re unit will be on the ground floor across from pond.

Other notes
Yard: Our region (Northern Cal.) is home to Raccoons, Squirrels, Skunks and Possums so don’t be surprised if you get a visitor to our pond. Mostly you’ll see raccoons. As cute as they may look do not approach them.

Bedroom & Extra Beds: Bedroom has 1 full size bed. In the closet there are extra pillows, blankets and a blow up mattress. Please email if you need the extra sleepers. The doors are French so you can slide them shut to enclose the room for added privacy. The living room also has a pull out couch bed that can fit 1 person or 2 children.

Television: There are 3 remotes. One is for the TV (turn on-off and volume) the 2nd remote is for the cable (change channels) the 3rd for the DVD player.

Other things to note

We fell in love with this property when we first saw it. Because it is located on a double wide lot, we were amazed with the space and all the potential it offered. Over the years, we lovingly worked on landscaping by adding trees, plants, & foliage most of which are native to Hawaii. We continued by adding a pond & waterfall and worked on improving the dwellings including our dance studio located on back of the premises.
We love beautiful Victorians because they have so much character and this home was exactly what we were looking for when we made our move to the Peninsula. Our goal was to bring a piece of Hawaii to this land, to grow native plants, and have a place to continue our Cultural work. We love the fact that this area where our home is located is so convenient to shopping, restaurants, shopping malls, theaters, and all the specialty shops we could ever need....not to mention the abundance of parking which was refreshing moving here from the Big City of San Francisco.

Kawika's place is wonderful. It's spacious and cozy. Very clean and the apartment has everything a visitor needs. The neighborhood has really great ethnic restaurants. Wish I had a chance to enjoy the wonderful backyard. Its like a tropical oasis!

Kawika's place was great for my stay in SSF. The garden is beautiful and peaceful and the unit is just as described! Check in was a breeze and I greatly enjoyed my stay. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat!

Parents visiting for a month, a very comfortable, great and convenient place, the backyard garden is very pretty, near South San Francisco downtown. It's right next to the Hawaiian Cultural Center, so can see dancing classes next door during weekends.

I loved the serenity of Kawika's - it was like a slice of paradise. The proximity to the airport is great but was concerned about the airplane noise. It was so quiet that I forgot that we were that close!! The location is great - I had to travel between the Oakland area and the heart of Silicon Valley. His place is right in the middle. I really did feel like I was home for a few days - convenience of a stove, full size fridge AND a washer and dryer. I was only here for a few days but it is nice to go home with a clean suitcase. Parking is always a challenge in most places, especially the closer you get to the City. It was great to have the designated parking spot. It is a little tricky since it is a one-way street. Mahalo nui Kawika for your great hospitality!!

Kawika's Halekipa (house of friendliness) was indeed an oasis. It is private, clean, well-equipped, and comfortable. If a place close to the airport is a requirement you probably could not find a better spot. Even so, it is a quick ride to downtown and a lovely spot to come home to at the end of the day. Highly recommended!

The neighborhood was quiet, as it was advertised. The apartment was roomy and parking was really convenient. We had a great stay. The host was responsive and got back to my texts usually within 20 minutes or so. We had no issues whatsoever. I picked this location b/c it is great value for the price, and I don't have to worry about parking. The garden and pond was also an icing on the cake. Although it was not in the heart of SF, if you are visiting both south bay and SF, this works out much better.

Kawika's place is absolutely beautiful! My parents and I had a very comfortable stay. The host kept in touch at all times during our stay and communication was excellent. The place was very clean and cosy. There is a beautiful little pond and a garden the made the listing a perfect home. Grand Ave is less than 2 blocks away with conveniently located restaurants and bars. Will definitely consider coming back here again :)
