Interaction with guests
Guests will be greeted at check-in and then will have the apartment all to themselves. We are easily accessible to answer any questions you may have, but believe in giving guests their privacy.
The apartment is in the historic Bronzeville neighborhood (more specifically The Gap Landmark District). Bronzeville is definitely a neighborhood in transition and is full of character. This is a regular neighborhood with some of the regular Chicagoans that make the city great. If you are expecting a neighborhood full of tourists, chain restaurants and brand new suburban style housing, Bronzeville is not the neighborhood for you. Feel free to research more online about the neighborhood.
The greatest thing about this neighborhood is the central/convenient location. Only minutes from downtown, the lakefront and all of Chicago's most popular museums and attractions (including Navy Pier, Sears Tower, etc). Bronzeville is a historic neighborhood that has been very important to Chicago. The property is located in a landmarked subdivision (in Bronzeville) called the The Gap and is full of vintage greystones, brownstones, and mansions, as well as a lot of new development. Lake Michigan, 31st Street Beach/Marina and the lakefront trail are only a 15 minute walk away.
The apartment is great for guests that have a preference for driving and especially perfect for those that prefer public transportation (save money by not having to rent a car). This is apartment is located less than 10 minutes south of downtown by car and less than 15 minutes by bus or train. For public transportation lovers, there is a bus stop directly in front of the apartment that will take you directly downtown. The "L" (the train) is only a 6 minute walk from the apartment, if you want to experience the train/subway system. Also, 2 separate Divvy bike racks are also located within 2 blocks of the apartment where you can rent bikes if you'd like to see the city on 2 wheels. Uber is a good option as well.

My wife and I are fairly avid travelers. Since we live in Chicago, a lot of our trips are to warmer climates. Some of my favorite places to visit are New Orleans, Phoenix, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Mexico, Colombia, Bahamas, and Toronto (not warm, but we love that city). My favorite trips have been to Kenya and Colombia. My dream trip would be to any country that I have not visited yet.
5 things that i can't live without: my family (my wife, daughter and son are my travel companions), my cellphone, music, traveling, public transportation.
We very seldom stay in hotels. Due to the fact that we normally vacation for a least a week at a time, we tend to rent vacation homes/condos. We like the flexibility of being able to cook some meals ourselves in order to save money and we prefer to stay in regular neighborhoods instead of being surrounded by tourists in hotels.
There's a big world out there.....see it!
