The space

rear apartment in a 1921 beach cottage in the quaint "Parrot Cove" historic neighborhood east of downtown lake worth. This bright sunny apartment is warm and open with lots of light, wood floors, a breakfast/sunroom, and a spacious kitchen for an apartment this size! 1/2 block from the main street provides the serenity of private accommodations, with the convenience of being 2 blocks from the beach,as well as the downtown shoppes and restaurants.
Newly remodeled kitchen has corian countertops, and hand scraped hickory floors that offset the warm vintage dade county pine in the living room. The clean lines of mid-century danish furnishings warm the senses, as the cool beach breeze wafts through the sunny open space.
Everything you can imagine, is a 5 minute walk. The eclectic downtown promenade offers cuban, german, french, thai, sushi, korean, mexican and 4 italian restaurants. Our local breakfast diner "The Pelican" has THE best indian food around on friday nights only. As if the multitude of casual pubs and eateries with live music were not enough, "the Bamboo Room" is a world class jazz and blues club, the facing "Propaganda" is a more alternative club for the younger/counter-culture oriented. The Lake Worth Playhouse has excellent performances throughout the season, and the adjacent "Stonzek Theatre" is an intimate 50 seat black box theatre with weekly rotations of independent and foreign films!!!

The apartment is in a PERFECT location--about two blocks from downtown Lake Worth and a few minutes to the beach. The apartment is a good size for a couple, and we loved sitting out on the new outdoor deck in back. The host, Troy, obviously takes great care in maintaining an apa…

Very charming little cottage. Conveniently located about 15-20 minutes from PBI Airport. The bathroom is a little cramped but the living room is comfortable and I appreciated the kitchen. Also, the deck was a very pleasant surprise! We had breakfast outside each morning and e…

Response from Troy:
as you can see from ALL of my other reviews over the past several years, i have had no such comments from other guests. after originally listing this space as a "studio" other guests corrected me and THEY suggested i list it as a one bedroom, since, unlike the technical definition of a studio apartment, there IS a separate bedroom. mine has a double sized entrance with a curtain instead of a door, so if you need complete privacy from your spouse, you can close it. the power strip is extremely secure, hooked up to a safety GFI which meets code regulations and is there for the convenient use of the toaster oven...there is a new 50 gallon gas water heater that nobody has ever complained about before with the brand new high pressure shower head. yes, 4 tiny segments of the blinds in the sunroom had broken off a 3 inch segment below where you twist to open them...NOW I HAVE REPLACED THEM WITH NEW BLINDS! and in my thorough spring cleaning, i will admit, i did forget to wipe off the blades of the fan, to which i now awake with recurring nightmares just imagining the traumatic experience my guests had to endure. when booking accommodations we all get to be open to new experiences and environments. This is an historic 1921 beach cottage with all the imperfections that most consider charming....uneven original wood floors...old plaster walls...for the very reasonable price i am asking, most guests are thrilled with the quaintness, comfort, character and THE best location. If you seek brand new sterility and perfection, there are many hotels just over the bridge starting at TRIPLE the price...I was very hurt by what seems to have been a vindictively poor review, and i own up to the fact that i confused the dates and did not have the requested issues fixed before the guests' return...i made them what i considered generous offers to be upgraded to my larger property, or a 20% discount, some people just cannot be pleased. otherwise i pride myself in making my guests comfortable and taking care of their needs. I have learned from this experience, replaced the blinds, spruced up with new artwork, amazing Boll & Branch fair trade organic cotton linens, and have a beautiful new sundeck not listed or photographed yet. thank you all for taking the time to read this! I look forward to hosting you in what truly is THE best location in Lake Worth!~
