A lovely studio loft with 6 meter high cathedral ceilings in the very heart of the city.
Passeig de Gracia is Barcelona's main and most prestigious avenue. This lovely Studio Loft is superbly located.

This very pretty studio loft is in the very best location possible in Barcelona. No doubt about it. Get out your guide books and maps and read about Paseo de Gracia/Passeig de Gracia in Catalan. It is Barcelona's principal and most elegant avenue. The studio loft is a 48m2 studio on the fifth floor of an exclusive residential building, with full on views of the famous Torre Agbar by Jean Nouvel. There are two lifts/elevators. The building is next to Barcelona's Apple store and Plaza Catalunya. Plaza Catalunya divides the exclusive area of Eixample from the area known as the Barrio Gotico. The famous Ramblas can be found just across the square.
Barcelona can be visited on foot and easily from this apartment. Shop for basics in El Corte Ingles opposite (the main store in town) or buy your delicacies and fruit and vegetables, fresh from the beautiful and famous La Boqueria - walking distance as it is on Las Ramblas.
Buses galore on the doorstep as well as the metro and train station just outside - underground.
Now that you know it is the very best area of Barcelona, this is the flat that is being offered.
A very pretty studio loft - open plan - ideal for 1 to 2 people.
6 meter high wooden cathedral style ceiling. Windows giving out onto wonderful views of the city. Sorry, no outside space - you cannot have everything.
The flat is comfortably furnished - not up to date with the utmost fashion. I want a homely atmosphere for when I come back to rest after a hard day slogging around the city. I do not want to have a "cool" "hip" "trendy" "fashionable" copy of a modern hotel. If that is what you are looking for, I am afraid you shall not find it here.
However, you shall find a place that is pretty and comfortably furnished and of course, has wifi.
The set up of the loft is slightly different to that shown in the photos as I have changed the furniture around to what I believe is the best configuration that I have had since I bought the place in 1998.
Enter into a hallway and the door to the right is the bathroom. It is spacious and quite frankly rather too big for a studio loft. The bathroom has a bathtub, shower over, toilet/loo, bidet and wash basin. I have shampoo and shower gel as well as hand soap gel. Hair dryer in the drawer.
As you enter the main space, there is a kitchen area to the right with everything you need:
Fridge/freezer, microwave, full oven, two ring electric ceramic hob (don't know what you would call it in your country but you can guess what I mean),full oven, toaster, electric kettle, filter coffee maker and a Spanish cafetiere. I also provide some basics and try to keep the supply up as much as possible: salt, olive oil, sugar, tea, ground coffee and instant coffee. There is also a dishwasher and a brand new washing machine which is coming in tomorrow morning (as I write this on 1st February 2013). It is a washing machine with 1400 rpm which means the clothes come out with most of the moisture gone. It does not have a dryer. I find most European washer/dryers to have completely useless dryers so I find it better and more economical to run, to have a high rpm and then dry out on one of the two clothes horses I have. You also have an iron and ironing board.
Next to the kitchen area is a wooden and glass dining table with 4 chairs, towards the right. The right hand side of the room has the new (2016), large and very comfortable bed (King size), two side night tables with lamps and the smaller two seater sofa under the arched window. It really is very pleasant. Not shown in the photos is a large double wardrobe where I keep spare pillows, duvets, towels etc but you do have space for yourselves - hanging space, three shelves and three drawers. Hopefully that is more than enough for a stay in a studio loft. I find it to be more than adequate when I make frequent visits.
The left hand side of the space , when looking towards the windows is dedicated to the living room where you shall find a comfortable armchair - yes, Ikea but very comfortable, a three seater sofa, two side tables with lamps, a radio/cd player, a long sideboard with the TV on top and another lamp. The lighting at night overall is very nice. You can of course switch on or off whichever ones you wish but he result is mostly very cosy.
Under the TV in the section with the sliding door you can find some books that previous guests have left behind and also a plastic bag with some electrical adaptors just in case you forgot to bring your own. Please do not remove!!!!! They are their for everyone's comfort - mostly for North American and British plugs to European.
Against the wall is a lovely, time battered double 1890's journalist bookcase with more books. Some are mine and some have been left behind by others. Please do not remove but feel free to read.
The floor is wooden and scratched - not all over but certainly lived in. There is a large Persian rug in the living room, under the glass coffee table and a small Persian rug next to the bed.
The flat is NON smoking and I really do ask you not to smoke in it.
The flat is also NOT for partying.
I prefer quiet, respectable people who will make themselves feel at home here after a good day out enjoying this magnificent city, reading a book, watching the TV or using their laptops - Yes, as mentioned. There is wifi and also Air conditioning.
I live in London and work all over Europe but read my e mails every day and generally, several times a day. Should you need me, e mail me. I have someone in Barcelona who shall be there to let you in, do the check in and also the check out. You shall have her number too.
There is a charge of 60 euros for departure cleaning which is added to your rental. Please remember this.
On stays of 10 days and more, I shall provide you with a cleaner mid stay, to clean and change the bed and towels etc.
Bedding and towels are provided. The bed will always be made up with a duvet but, as some North Americans prefer, there are a couple of blankets in the wardrobe. In the months of July and August you should find the bed made up with sheets and without the duvet but if you prefer, the duvet and blankets are in the wardrobe. It is up to personal taste. I personally could not sleep with the air conditioning on.
I have many reviews from another website which I presume I am not allowed to write here but I can send you some copies of the original emails which I have received from previous guests.
Enjoy Barcelona and Welcome to my Studio Loft.

The photo was me at 13 and it is staying there!!!!
Very well travelled Londoner - 59 years old.
I have been a Tour Director for 35 years - it is now in the blood.
When I travel, I prefer staying in flats/apartments/houses rather than hotels and discovered airbnb on one of my recent trips to Israel.
As I travel so much for work, I do nowadays prefer my free time to be spent at home or on short trips. I love the English countryside so I plan to go as often as possible. My two favourite cities (apart from London) are Tel Aviv and New York. I plan to stay in the Negev soon.
London is home to me and probably always shall be - great city.
I now have two properties on airbnb - a small studio close to Kensington Gardens and a lovely, spacious studio loft in the very best location in Barcelona.
Hope you like my little place in London - just two streets from my home and my place in Barcelona. Two excellent locations.
