Great location - centrally located within walking distance to the river and downtown. The owners were kind and accessible if we needed them. They provided great food and drink recommendations. Perfect historic home for a weekend away.

Dear Nikki and Marty, We were so lucky to find your house on airbnb! It made out visit to New Bern all that much more memorable! From our initial communication until the day we left, you were responsive, thoughtful, helpful and just a pleasure to work with. The weather was very warm and the air conditioning was so nice to come home to. We enjoyed your screened in porch and your lovely outdoor spaces. We rented a car and there was always parking right in front of the house. We walked to town (a short few blocks away) along the waterfront. Everything about the Coor-Bishop Dependency was perfect!! I have relatives in New Bern and they all loved the house and will recommend it to their friends and relatives! Thank you so much for everything! Pat, Karen and Teresa

A delightful place to stay in New Bern; I cannot imagine finding a better place. Everything was absolutely perfect from the best mattresses I've ever sleep on in an Airbnb to the screen porch where you could have your coffee and watch the local birds wake up Martin and Nikki were incredibly helpful and very nice people!

Nikki and Marty made me feel like a personal guest in their home. The description and photos of the cottage on the website do not do it justice. It is a block from the Neuse River and a lovely riverwalk. Three blocks away there is a small beach which is perfect for putting in a kayak. 3/4 of a mile in the other direction there is a public park with a beach and a boat landing. The cottage is tastefully furnished with antiques, and comfortable. New Bern is one of the nicest towns that I know of.

We stayed at the Historic Coor-Bishop Dependency from June 14th-21st, 2015. Martin and his wife Nikki were excellent hosts. This is a quiet neighborhood, with easy access to the river and historical sites.

I am a retired telephone repairman who now enjoys gardening, fishing, and carpentry that I learned in the US Navy. We moved here in 1997 and loved to be in this beautiful quiet town. My wife Nikki was a school teacher who now helps underprivileged children.
