We're a 45 min train ride to NYC with easy access. Your spacious room in a warm home and country setting is quiet and set back surrounded by trees. It's centrally located in an adorable village with shops, cafes and beautiful nature walks nearby.

The Traveler's Retreat is a newly painted Cape Cod cape - with a beautiful deck and back yard, bordered by a small forest. There is beautiful light in your room with a large sitting area, coffee table and desk. The twin beds are extra large. Our guests remark on how quiet, cozy and calm our home is.

Generally, our guests stay in the large, private space upstairs with their own private bathroom, and private staircase to the area.

As I work out of my home, I am generally here throughout the day and evening, if questions arise.

We are a family neighborhood within walking distance to the village that has many unique cafes (The Black Cow), restaurants (Tangine, Hopscotch, a bakery (Baked by Susan) and specialty shops. You can also easily walk to both the Croton River and the Hudson.

We are a 20 - 30 minute walk to the train station or a $6 cab ride.

Should you require more space, that is possible if arranged in advance.

Molly is a lovely person with a lovely home, and the room was perfect for my needs as a single traveler.

Staying at the 'Traveler's ReTreat' was a nice treat & a great way to experience Croton. Molly was a gracious, kind and helpful host. There was fresh coffee & home-roasted granola waiting in the morning! Molly gave me many good tips about the area. The house is charming & cosy - especially when experienced in the autumn colors. The room was very quiet, cosy & I had everything I needed to feel comfortable. It felt a bit like staying with family ... the 'good' kind. Thank you Molly & Teddie!

Molly was a great host and went the extra mile to accommodate my needs, including letting me borrow her computer charger when mine broke. The house was beautiful and well kept and the short walk to the downtown area made it an ideal spot for someone traveling without a car. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet weekend retreat in the Hudson valley.

Molly kept in touch with updates before my arrival. Banana bread and tangerines were waiting when I arrived.

Molly is a great host. She is very attentive to her guest. The place is convenient for someone who needs to escape the city in an efficient way, 45mn by train, and very close to the station. The house is welcoming and clean. The bedroom spacious and very agreeable. If you don't have a car and intend to get to the park be ready to walk and note that there is one underpass only to get to the river at Oscawana Park. You can walk following the river to get to Croton Park. Once to get there it is really worth it. So close to the city and yet the Hudson give it's full beauty. I saw different kind of birds ... had a good resting time!

Unbeatable location, very comfortable and clean, excellent communication. Nice neighborhood, with restaurants and a coffee shop right down the street. There's a large park nearby on the Hudson River, if you have time for a walk. Molly has great energy and it was an added bonus to meet family and friends. I was in the area for business and there weren't a lot of hotel options. Even had more options existed, Molly's place was far superior in every way.

Both my friend and I had a wonderful time, and it was nice to make a friend in Molly! I stayed an extra day and enjoyed the lovely Croton River walk through the woods that is just a short walk from the house, as well as some great local restaurants and the Pumpkin Blaze. Here's some more feedback from my friend: Molly was a wonderful and welcoming host. She took the time to sit and get to know us, but also gave us plenty of space to do our thing. She gave us great recommendations for local restaurants, coffee shops, ice cream parlors, bars, etc. Everything was in walking distance, so it worked perfectly for two people from Brooklyn without access to a car. The room was very comfortable, well-suited for two friends spending a weekend upstate.
