Trendy, artsy yet classy, safe, quiet, easy to find neighborhood. Close to everything in Cleve. 6 miles to Quicken Arena. There is so much to do nearby. The house was built in 1900 but has been tastefully upgraded.

The space

Perfect for business or vacation. High Speed Internet. Lots of space. Safe trendy neighborhood. 10 min fr either the airport or Cleve. Private Bath. Great place to relax & be close to everything fun. Price based on number of overnight guests. If you have less you pay the lower rate.

Guest access

Use the entire half of the East Unit of the house. Each floor of 3 is approx 900 to 1k sq ft. Use the living room, dining room, kitchen which includes space for your food in the fridge, cabinets and pantry.
Wash your laundry in basement.

The front porch and back deck are also great places with Wifi to enjoy.

The 3rd floor family room is also a special place.

Interaction with guests

We will match your style. If you like alot of personal space-you get it as the host travels alot and also has her art/music studio in the carriage house out back. If you want more attention and social interaction your host is also available for that. Open up the kitchen cabinets and find the pot or pan you are looking for. Don't be shy, use the spices in the cabinet. There is a Keurig coffee maker, traditional coffee pot, and a french press.

Other things to note

--No pets without advance written agreement and payment of pet rent. No cats ever due to allergies.

--Parking: We have a spot reserved for you in the driveway.

--Air conditioning: 4 units are available for June July and August. The other months do not need a/c.

--You do need to sign and fax or email our agreement.

Hi, Thanks for staying in our Victorian Home. The guidelines/rules are pretty simple here. ( At the bottom of this document, you will find our rental agreement. Please print, sign, and fax it.)

If you spill it, wipe it up. Take out the garbage and recycle...the cans are just outside under the bay window. Garbage day is early Tuesdays-just take the cans to the curb and return them in the evening.

When you leave, please gather your linens up and towels and place them on top of the washer in the basement.

Wash your dishes please-there is a brand new dishwasher.

PARKING: You have TWO parking spaces available to you just outside the side door of 16715 Clifton Blvd. There is a west unit (you're in it) and an EAST unit that is occupied by a long term renter. Their parking spaces are the last two spaces in the driveway. You will either park in front of the metal gates just outside your side door, and under the bay window or park on the street in front of the house. PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN THE LONG TERM TENANTS PARKING SPACES.

(The only time you cannot park on the street in front of the house is 7a to 9am Mon through Friday. During that time you can park on the opposite side of the street or on the side street which is only two houses away. On the NORTH side of the street you can park anytime except 4p-6pm Mon-Friday.)
Basically: Rush hour traffic time.

KEY: You will be greeted by our manager. She will give you a key to the front door: her phone number for texting or calling is: (phone number hidden)

We have a back up lock box if you happen to lock yourself out. The lock box is found on the side door. If you get locked out, text the owner and she will then give you the combination for the lock box.

The one key you will be given is to the front door which is the easiest door to navigate.

When you leave you will need to leave the key in the Master Lock-Lock Box. Our manager on duty will let you know where to leave it. Please make sure that all windows and doors are closed and locked when you leave. Feel free to leave the front porch light on if you are going to be coming back late at night.

This house is for lodging only. No events or parties. If you invite a few friends over they cannot stay overnight and Lakewood has a strictly enforced noise rule after 10 pm.

SPECIAL NOTE: I understand that the basement is considered common space with the owner of this home. The owner may use the basement laundry room and bathroom from time to time. She will enter through the side door and go down the stairs. The first through 3rd floors are accessed by you only by walking up the side door stairs and opening the door separating the first floor with the entree way. In addition, the first floor half bath is actually located outside the house, just outside the back door (off of the kitchen) This is also used on occasion by the owner when she is staying in the carriage house above the garage. This half bath is located in between the deck and inside the mudroom. Please keep the mud room door unlocked. You may lock the official back door to the house. It all makes sense when you see the set up.

I agree to pay the rental fee specified by the Airbnb forms for this stay plus any additional fees for guests over and above the basic four. I agree to pay a cleaning fee of 120.00 through Airbnb for this stay.
I agree to pay a security deposit through Airbnb. The security deposit will be refunded according to Airbnb policies at the termination of this agreement provided that Guest abides by all terms of this agreement. For this rental period, I agree to pay the amount required by AirBNB prior to the commencement date of the rental period. Failure to pay in full within this time frame may result in cancellation of reservation.

The property will not be reserved until either the security deposit and/or rental fee are paid and the signed contract is received agree to have no more than 4 people for occupancy and will pay the adjusted free if I wish to have more than 4 guests. The fee for additional guests is $50 pp per night unless it is a child under age 2. Please note that the base price per night is for up to 4 guests. If you have more guest than the agreed upon amount-excluding children under 2 years of age, there is a fee of $50 per night per person.
NOTE: if you go over the wifi data plan you will need to reimburse the host for the extra fees.

--Pet Fee: $25 to 35/day per pet depending on size of dog.
__Pet Deposit: Additional Pet Deposit is required to cover any additional cleaning needed to remove pet hair or odor.
If we agree to allow a dog then you must give us back the house without dog hairs or pay an additional cleaning fee if our housekeeper as to spend extra time detailing the carpet, floors, and furniture. Pets will be allowed to use the fenced in concrete area in front of garage for elimination. All pet doo doo MUST be picked up and disposed of immediately after the dog goes to the bathroom. A fee of $5 per pet pile will be deducted from your security deposit if you do not take care of your dogs doo doo. Pet's are not allowed in beds or on furniture. If you leave your pet while out, leave them closed in to the kitchen where there is a tile floor. WE ask that no pets be allowed on the 3rd floor because we need to keep one area pet free for those traveling with pet allergies. CATS are never allowed due to the number of people who have cat allergies including the owner.

This agreement shall not be assigned, nor the premises sublet without the written consent of the owner or his agents will maintain this property in as good condition as I find it and agree to replace or pay for any loss, breakage or damage to the satisfaction of the owner or agents. There is a no party policy for this property. This is a lodging only rental unless a party/event fee of $500 is agreed upon and paid in advance. Parties would be any group of 12 people or more who are not spending the night at this home. If entertainment or catering is ordered then a party fee must be paid with no exceptions. A fine of $500 will be charged to your credit card if it is noted that a party did occur. No Bachelor or Bachelorette Parties unless they are quiet ones that do not create a noise nuisance for the neighbors. I/we agree that no occupants will smoke within the premises. There is a $400 fine for smoking inside the property. Toilets and Toilet Paper: Please advise all guests to refrain from flushing any feminine products into the toilets. You agree to pay for any plumbing costs should the toilet block or sewer. ( A few years ago it cost $138 to unblock a blockage in the sewer due to this.)
We provide you with a starter roll of toilet paper for each bathroom. You will need to provide your own after that If a landline is available during our rental, I agree that all occupants will use a calling card for all non-local phone calls The Internet is Wifi and also available to connect your laptop to it. Cable and Internet are provided by Cox Cable. Should the service be interrupted due to weather or provider problems there will be no discounts to the rent. There is a password needed for the wifi. We will provide it the day you arrive but it is also located on the back of the modem under the first fl tv. It is expressly understood and agreed that owner of said premises will not be liable for any damages or injury to Guest or other occupants and their property from whatever cause arising from the occupancy of said premises. If the police are called to handle any disturbances caused by you or any of your guests. everyone will be asked to leave with no refund for your remaining stay agree to vacate said premises upon the termination of this agreement at the hour and date shown above. Before vacating, I will collect all linens, pillowcases, and towels from the beds and bathrooms and place on the washer and dryer. Please Start a load of towels. Collect all garbage and place in outside container. Place all used dishes and kitchen items in the dishwasher, unload and put dishes away. You may leave perishables and food items in the refrigerator as we donate them to the local homeless shelter or food bank. Turn down the furnace to 64 degrees on departing and turn the temp down on the thermostat to 64 degrees when out during the day.***

Keep the heater in the 1st floor bathroom turned on in the winter -if it is on a thermostat: Must be kept at 62 degrees. Turn off all lights and appliances **Clean up any visible spills in refridge, on sinks, and floors. Clean food spills in oven and on outdoor grill. Close and lock the premises **have opted for the $50 discount on the cleaning fee of $170 to $120 and understand that if I do not complete the above, that the $50 will be taken out of my security deposit.

I agree that if any of the terms of this rental agreement are not abided by, the owner may deduct the necessary costs from the security deposit.
Utilities: Included in your rental is One Therm per day of East Dominion Gas and 25 kw of Electric. The meters are read just before you arrive and after you leave. The amounts allotted here are sufficient to heat the home during winter, however, in order to prevent having extra utility charges deducted from Security Deposit, make sure you turn the furnace down whenever you go out to sight see and turn off lights when not using. Also make sure that the furnace is turned turned down in the winter and not on in the summer when you checkout.
Pet Policy:
Should a pet be allowed on the premises by prior agreement and payment of pet rent: Pet Owner agrees to the following. To never ever allow any pets on any furniture and to crate the dogs when no one is around. Owner agrees to not leave "any" dog doo anywhere in the yard and to bring own pooper scooper to facilitate the removal. Owner agrees to control any barking with dogs. Owner agrees to clean up "any and all hair" left from shedding dogs.
Any and all legal disputes shall be handled in Cuyahoga County, OH via phone meditation. All costs shared between owner and renter.
Should owner have to cancel this reservation for any reason, the most the rentor can expect to receive back is the total paid to the date of the cancellation.

Great experience. I come to town for business and brought my staff. It was such a comfortable and impeccably clean home that I'm returning again later this week and going to try out Susan's other place. I love the cast iron claw foot tub in the main bath. To be honest I was a tad bit nervous after reading the last review but there were zero issues and the tub is in great shape considering it's age. Loved being able to text anytime I had a question & got speedy responses.

Complaints: Cobwebs all throughout the house, tub had black floating residue and dust, there was no soap in the dispensers in the kitchen and bathroom, dirty dish in the sink, food in the fridge (hard boiled eggs) and freezer, dishes in the dishwasher. Beds were not very comfortable. Pros: perfect location as our friends lived right down the street. Susan was very apologetic when it came to things that were out of place/dirty.

To be fair this feels like a retaliatory review, Amy tried to cancel days after she booked and I explained that I had already turned down someone else to accept her reservation but if I could get them back then I could allow her to cancel. I couldn't. My house concierge greeted her and showed her around the house. If any of these things were a real issue they would have been addressed at that time. My housekeepers would die a thousand deaths if there were cobwebs anywhere. Although Amy texted me multiple times she never once mentioned cobwebs, missing soap or eggs in the fridge. We always provide soap and have back up under the sink. Guaranteed that if she had texted me that anything was amiss, I would have had my airbnb neighbor host stop by in minutes to handle anything, because we help each other out whenever we can in that way. There was a carton of eggs in the fridge, just purchased fresh eggs not hard boiled. In fact, I often keep condiments in the fridge so that my guests don't have to buy mustard or ketchup and we make sure nothing has expired. There was a 'clean" dish in the sink that my housekeeper was to return to our other unit but she didn't because she didn't want to bother me during my dinner party. Even though I considered a clean dish a minor issue, I did apologize for this and explained why it was there. My mattresses are brand new and no one has ever said they are uncomfortable. One is a high end memory foam mattress. Food in the freezer? I have multiple homes and have things in every freezer but always leave plenty of space for guests. In this case there was a frozen ham in the freezer but I have no idea why this would ever be an issue. There were 2 clean dishes in the dishwasher which she sent me a photo of. This was the guests first airbnb rental and I'm wondering why she would expect the fridge or freezer to be completely empty. The tub is an original cast iron claw foot tub from 1900 which makes it 117 yrs old. It was sanitized, and dust could have blown in from the open window next to it. There is no "black floating residue" in the tub but it isn't perfectly white everywhere because it is cast iron and "117 yrs old." So I'm wondering what she meant by a floating residue? How does anything float in an empty/dry tub? She did mention the dust to me and I asked her if she wanted to have someone come remove the dust and clean it again so that she could be feel more confident. She declined. I am a registered nurse and my housekeepers know I'm a fanatic on sanitizing bathrooms & kitchens. If you do ever stay in one of my homes and anything is amiss, please text me immediately. I will do everything I can to make it right within the hour, even if it's a cheerio that blew under the couch and didn't get sucked up in the vacumn cleaner.

Susan was very friendly and patient. We had a good time talking. The house is clean and tidy. Because all the furniture, facilities and tools are complete, our life is very convenient. We like the back garden very much because it is beautiful and natural. The commercial street in the house is about two blocks. It's quiet and convenient. It was a pleasant trip and we left a lot of precious memories.

Beautiful house with great light, lots of character and history. Very comfy beds, tons of space, everything works great. Water pressure perfect, nice bathtub and shower. Stayed in summer and it was perfectly fine with fans and breeze on the first two floors and two window A/C units on the third. Shared the house with a family who stayed on the 3rd floor, it was more than plenty of room and very pleasant experience. Highly recommend!

This was the perfect home for our brief stay in Cleveland. 6 of us spent 3 nights in Susan's lovely Victorian home in the quiet and picturesque Lakewood neighbourhood. The home had plenty of character and felt very homey. We were met by TJ who showed us around and made sure we had everything we needed before leaving. The home was well appointed, very clean and our bed was super comfortable! We enjoyed using the keurig and sitting around the dining room table and comfortable living room chatting. It was a lovely change from an impersonal hotel room and added a great deal to our enjoyment of the weekend. Susan provided good communication before and during our stay. She is proud of her home and sincerely wants others to enjoy it as well. We would definitely stay again if we were going to Cleveland. Susan's home provided us with the perfect base for all of our Cleveland adventures!

In Ohio you can just walk in a friends home without knocking -sit on the couch & playfully ask: "what's for dinner? I'm also a foodie: Ask me where you can get Lobster Pizza for only $14! I believe that when people travel they open up new worlds to themselves and others. They bring and share their culture and ways of thinking. It was Mark Twain who said that "Travel is lethal to prejudice and ignorance. "
Why do I like to share my home? The satisfaction I feel is immeasurable when friends and families have a unique place to stay and get to "live like a local." Success is finding a way to live, love, and laugh.
