The space

Studio Apartment, completely furnished. Located just 7 minutes and 2.65 miles from the French Quarter and 4 blocks to St. Charles the heart of the parade routes. My studio apartment is located in the famous Historic Garden District on Magazine Street where locals go for antique shopping, restaurants and nightlife. A perfect location for those who want to catch some beads and explore the city. This fully furnished apartment features a private entrance, private balcony, free high speed Wi-Fi, on site coin-operated washer-dryer, complete kitchen, bath, queen size bed and off street parking.
My location is perfect year round, but is absolutely ideal if you are looking to come during the Essence Festival July 4th.
Jazz Festival the last weekend of April and the first weekend in May.
Mardi Gras parades-- I am four blocks from all the festivities on the Uptown Parade Route and a quick street car ride downtown to the Superdome and French Quarter.
This location will also be perfect for the Valentines, honeymoons, anniversary's etc etc
Grocery stores, Rite Aid/Walgreens, liquor stores, shopping, restaurants and bars are all within walking distance and are all less than 4 blocks away. The street car line is four blocks away and is the city's form of public transportation. It gives visitors direct access to downtown, the french quarter, uptown, garden district, Audubon Park and the university area. The neighborhood is safe and friendly and it is very easy to hail a cab from our place.

Guests are welcome to enjoy New Orleans' good weather and sit out on our porch. There are numerous great restaurants in walking distance of our place. We look forward to meeting anyone wanting to explore our wonderful city.

Other things to note

My neighbors cat Fergal has become a fixture here. However, I would prefer that he does not come inside of the apartment. Some of my guests are allergic to cat dander. This is a studio in a very Old Sugar Cane Plantation that was built somewhere in the late 1800's. It has all of the original features and blemishes. However, this is a very comfortable studio, if you are looking for ultra clean & modern amenities this probably will not suit your needs.

The apartment was in a great location, the neighbourhood was lovely & I felt really safe there. Lots of great cafes, restaurants, bars and shops on Magazine street. However the apartment itself was really filthy. The bed sheets had stains on them, I'm not sure if they had been washed prior to our stay! The shower was freezing cold and the apartment in general was really dirty. Definitely not how it was described in the listing or the photo's. There is a difference between shabby boho chic and just general dirt. We didn't meet Gretta but she was really helpful with directions on how to get there and got back to me really quickly. However that was all of the communication we had. It would have been nice to have had some recommendations on good places to go and eat etc... Would come back to new Orleans again but would not be staying at Gretta's apartment again.

Having lived in New Orleans before, I was looking for a place that was quintessentially New Orleans-esque to show my friend. This place met my expectations and way more. Nestled in the back of a Garden District home, this small studio apartment screams New Orleans, from its tall ceilings to the scatter of Mardi Gras decorations around the room. On top of that, it was very clean, cozy, and quiet. Perfect place to stay. =)

Location is great. 10 minute bus ride to downtown with bus stop right where you are. Plenty of free parking. Host is very responsive. Our only issue which is not the host fault is that the building is a bit shabby

Ann's place is in a great location, but I think the pictures showed the place as being far more luxurious than it was. My boyfriend and I stayed for three days, and were disappointed that the oven didn't work. If you choose to stay here, look out for the bed- both of us hit our shins pretty hard on the bed frame which sticks out.

We enjoyed our stay-- it was a beautiful room, with a very comfy bed. I do think the room ended up being smaller than the pictures display. It was fine for us, but there was a slight difference in my expectation. The location is fantastic. Two things were a little questionable for us: 1. In order to checkin 3 hours early, we had to pay $25 cash through a separate vendor. 2. When we checked in, the owner messaged me and said that her neighbor saw us checkin and if we ran into him, we should say we are friends visiting. I wanted to know more about this, since I generally feel uncomfortable when lying on behalf of anyone, let alone someone I don't know at all. Other than those 2 pieces-- we had a really lovely stay! The area and bed get 2 thumbs up!
