A private annexe in a welcoming farmhouse, in the beautiful glaven valley, close to the coast and the market town of Holt. Walking distance to a lovely country pub. Self contained with your own front door, one luxury double bedroom, en-suite shower & small private kitchen.
We offer just one luxurious double bedroom, The Garden Room, which is self contained, with a smart en-suite shower room, private kitchen, and own entrance area and front door.
Your kitchen is stocked with breakfast goodies so that you can help yourself, at your leisure and at a time to suit you. You will find fresh milk, butter, organic yoghurt, local bread and jams. Also a selection of teas, coffee, breakfast cereals and porridge. When our kitchen garden is in bloom we will also provide home grown strawberries or raspberries (but only in season).
There is a double bed, a comfortable sofa, flatscreen televison, table and chairs for 2 and a log burner in winter (with a basket of logs provided) and an airy outlook onto the garden in summer.
The views are spectacular and barn owls, pheasants, egrets and deer may all be seen from your window, in this protected part of the beautiful glaven valley.
The kitchen has a fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster and is equipped with
glasses, plates and cutlery etc; so if you fancy keeping a bottle of wine cold in the fridge or making yourself a cup of tea, or get tempted by the local produce when you are out and about and want to bring something tasty back to make yourself a snack with, you can as and when suits you. Please note there is no oven or hob, which makes the accommodation more suited to shorter stays.
There is a pretty outdoor table and chairs so that you can relax outside in the summer and soak up the sunshine, however we request that you respect our privacy and do not use the part of the garden that is in front of the main part of the house.
Interaction with guests
Bella can recommend places to eat, to hire bikes to meander along the country lanes, to book a beach hut at the stunning wells beach (subject to availbaility), organise boat trips to see the seals at Blakeney point or sailing lessions at Morston. Whether you would like to eat tapas overlooking the marshes, cosy up in the pub, visit the many open gardens, bird watch or even have a private session of yoga and meditation, all can be arranged.
Other things to note
The popular local pub, the Hunnybell, is approx 1 mile away in the village of Hunworth. It is a lovely scenic walk (it takes us an easy 20 minutes) along a quiet country road, next to the meadow and through the picturesque village. Please note however that we would not recommend walking at night in the winter.
Beck (as in Beck Farmhouse, which is us!) is old Norfolk dialect for a stream or small river and the house is named thus because of the beautiful strech of the river Glaven than runs alongside it. This part of the Glaven valley is a conservation area, with a 10½ mile long river flowing through picturesque countryside and then out to the North Sea. The scenic value of the Glaven valley is important to the tourist industry in North Norfolk and to the farmland surrounding it.
Please treat our home with respect and we will do our best to ensure you feel like honoured guests.
We request that you do not invite people back to our house, without first checking with us.
The house will be heated from October to April inclusive. There is a wood burner and a supply of wood in your room, if you feel cold and fancy cozying up, in the summer months.
Cancel up to 5 days before your trip and get a full refund. Cancel within 5 days of your trip and the first night is non-refundable, but 50% of the cost for the remaining nights will be refunded.
