The room is inside Tiki jostel, which is at the top of Cantagalo, the view is thus amazing. The place is quiet and really cool. The ratio price/quality is trully amazing. Really one of the best place to stay in Rio when visiting.

Goooood Location, the view is amazing. If you dont want to see a favela dont go there. but you will definitly miss something. Milene is careful and very helpful. You will see the backside of Brazil during one week, dont hesitate.

I had a great stay in the favela. It's been interesting to see the contrast between the poor and rich in Rio for the few days that I've stayed at their place. The room was nice and the breakfast too. The hostel is located at the top of the favela and you can walk up or take a motor taxi upstairs. It's a 15 min walk from metro. Unfortunately there is no Uber or taxi avaialable in the favela. As of the safety, the hostel is located next to a military police station which makes up for the safety, although you shouldn't wander way off the main road. For people with lots of luggage, the last 50 m is a steep staircase up to the hostel. There are lots of little places to get food and drinks, at half the normal price ;)

It's a nice hostel with a great view and awesome design. The breakfast and the amenities were good. We could also use the kitchen. Our room was clean but there was no window and so it was difficult to ventilate. We stayed 1 week and for us it was a great experience to see the real life in a favela in Rio. We didn't feel always safe as we heard shots twice. But apart from that the favela seemed safe and if you don't have problems with going up hills it's no problem to walk to the hostel. There is also a white combi and moto taxis which you can take to go up the hill. To the elevator it's a 10 minutes walk. The people in the favela where always friendly and ready to help. And the hostel is near the metro station, copacabana and ipanema beach. There are a lot of supermarkets and possibilities to eat.

First things first, this place is not a airbnb-home, but a hostel. The hostel is located on top of a steep hill with a marvellous view over Rio in the comunidad of Cantagalo. The rooms of the multistorey buildung are clean and decorated with funny details and creative elements. It can get very loud during nighttime, as there will always be a dog barking in the neighbourhood or some party taking place.

The hostel is located on a hill and in the middle of a favela. There's an escalator that brings you up from the metro station General Osorio, you can take a taxi/moto taxi from the street Saint Roman or walk which takes around 15 minutes from copacabana beach. We stayed for one week and heard gunshots on three or four days and at different times off the day. Sometimes they seemed to be quite close to the hostel, but we never really knew how dangerous it is. Anyway we wanted to take care and so we didn't go out at night and always came back to the hostel before 8pm. But other guests came back at night using a taxi and didn't have any trouble. So if you really want to experience life in a favela, this is a good option. The view is also amazing and apart from the occasional shooting we had a good feeling staying there, the favela people are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was also nice: coffee, bread, cheese, ham and fruit. In general I recommend staying there, when you're acting cautious you should be fine.
