The peaceful and spacious 42qm loft in this 18th century house in Dresden overlooks an old apple orchard on the Elbe river with a view of the Blue Wonder Bridge. It's a historic landmark and a very charming place to create happy memories. The Place is located on the Elbe bike trail and close to public transportation.
Friedrich Schiller wrote the "Ode to Joy" here in 1785 while other guests to the so-called Körnerhaus included Goethe, Mozart and Humboldt. You can wake to the sound of church bells, enjoy a peaceful view of horses grazing in the orchard, relax in the garden or take a bike ride along the Elbe. The loft comprises the entire top floor, has windows on all sides and its own bath. You are welcome to use our kitchen or we can arrange to serve you breakfast in the garden or the loft. While you will have the feeling of being in the country you are only a 5 minute walk from public transportation that will take you into the city. Bikes are also available for rent for a trip along the Elbe. We are happy to share with our guests tips for things to do in this city of art and culture.
loft & garden, the kitchen is available for breakfast and light snacks. If you bring your bikes you are welcome to store them in our basement.
Interaction with guests
We look forward to meeting you when you arrive and will do our best to answer any of your questions during your stay.
We have lived in Dresden since 2001. Although Dresden is beautiful, we do like to get out and see the world. We are AirBnB fans and hope to broaden our traveling horizons with your help. My husband is German, an architect and professor, I'm American, and a librarian. We like to visit cities, museums, hike, cook, garden, read. We promise to treat your home with care. Non smokers.
