The space

Located inside the historic Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, World Heritage of UNESCO, our guest house is an authentic Berber Kasbah (fortified house in pisé with four towers) completely renovated in compliance with traditionnals technicals of construction and materials.

The kasbah is owned by our family for over three hundred years. Tebi was the first name of our grandfather. You’ll recognize it easily, it is located at the foot of the door Aït Ougram, one of the three access to the Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou. Look good, a stork’s nest sits prominently at the top of a tower.

The kasbah is distributed on four levels offering Berber lounges where you can enjoy a beautiful view over the valley, natural setting of many great films.

We serve an authentic and refined Moroccan cuisine which is one of the highlights of our house. Salads, briouates, soups, couscous, tagines, grilled meat… All our dishes are prepared with products from the local market, ensuring freshness and quality.

Our breakfasts, typically Moroccan, beings served at your convenience in our dining room or on the terrace, at the top of the kasbah, where you can enjoy a magnificent view over the valley and the Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou.

With us, you will understand why the hospitality and warm welcome were the greatness of the Berbers. If you go through Aït Ben Haddou, you stop for a tea and visit our house, Marhaba, welcome.

Guest access

The listing does not do this place justice. The setting is utterly incredible, and the rooms are gorgeous. A truly unique experience, and one of the best AirBnbs (or indeed hotels) that I've stayed at!

Mohamed's Kasbah is a once in a lifetime experience. Surrounded by scenic desert, no electricity, great food: a true oasis.

Magical place to stay. No electricity, totally cut off from the world with epic views and beautiful decor. Host was so friendly and the rooms were cosy and thoughtful. A special birthday breakfast was laid out for me in the morning. Am already planning to come back with my family.

This place was an absolute delight. Me and my friends (four of them Moroccans) could not believe our luck as we approached the kasbah: we stayed in one of the earthy castles/fortress that you can see in the Ait Ben Haddou and Ouarzazate postcards! The kasbah has been restored inside beautifully and for added charm, there is no electricity so we had an amazing candlelit evening. Dinner and service were also great. All in all one of the best experiences on Airbnb so far in a one in a lifetime sort of way.

Magic, different place, it's on the other side of a river bank so you either get by 4x4 or walking through the river (with little water). You will stay in a refurnished sector of a traditional old Kasbah sorrounded by the rest of the Kasbah. The candle lights (no electricity, charge your phone before) adds a touch of magic to the experience.

A extraordinary experience. An adventure for the kids from geting picked up by donkey to no electricity and only candles. The city itself is magical and you are just in the middle of it. The dinner was the best in our time in Morocco. We loved it.

Very good hotel, it is a pity, because the plan has changed, not on time. There is no way to get there
