Two double rooms in a cosy and colourful cottage in the centre of a lovely unspoilt Wolds village. Great for walking and cycling - within easy drive of York, North Yorkshire Moors, the coast and Hull.

The space
Welcome to The Yorkshire Wolds. We have big skies and big trees - and I have a little house.

There are two comfortable double rooms in a small cottage which can be let separately @ £45 per room. Also see Little House On The Wolds-2nd Room. However, I will think carefully about who and how many can be accommodated at once so you all have a good stay. There is space in the garden for tents.

Comfy beds with duck down duvets and pillows. White linen - and white towels provided. You share my bathroom and have the freedom of the rest of the house. You have sole use of a sitting room with TV. There is a conservatory and an enormous garden with seating, barbecue, a hammock and a bit of a meadow.

I can provide breakfast of the healthy variety - juice, yoghurt, cereals, wholemeal bread, eggs, porridge, honey - your choice - and I can do gluten free. You can use the kitchen to help yourself to a drink - different teas/ coffee/ juice, store food in the fridge and prepare your own food - but, please note, it is a meat free kitchen.

The village is lovely, nestled at the foot of the Yorkshire Wolds - at the bottom of Garrowby Hill - celebrated by David Hockney (along with lots of Wolds landscapes - in his exhibition A Bigger Picture) - with a stream and green running the length of the village. There is a pub that does food 30 seconds away.

There is brilliant walking and cycling straight out of the door - either on the flat in the Vale of York or up onto the Wolds. The house is very close to The Wolds, The Chalkland and The Minster Ways - and to the coast to coast cycle route The Way of the Roses. Safe bike storage available. There are two road bikes and a mountain bike if you wish to borrow them. There are tennis courts in the village (I have 2 rackets).

York is 12 miles away, the East coast 28 miles and it is 24 miles to access the North York Moors at Pickering. Pocklington, a small market town with a good restaurant, 2/3 coffee shops, range of independent shops and an arts centre/cinema is just 5 miles away.

Guest access
You have access to pretty much everything. All shared.

I like to walk, to cycle, to run - and to speak Spanish. I am learning Italian too - and need lots of practice in both languages. I visit Spain often, have travelled a lot in Latin America and intend travelling there some more. I swim and like messing about in turquoise water. I do the garden, read, go to the movies, visit art galleries, take photos, like adventures. And I have opinions on most things - sometimes informed, most often intuitive
