We have three rooms available for rent. Two rooms have queen beds and now we have a room with two twins adjacent to the master guest bedroom. This room is ideal for kids, but also parent/child or two friends traveling together combinations.
Rent one of three available rooms in a private home with a historic past located in an hillside location overlooking Narragansett Bay. Having served as a popular summer hotel in the early 1900's the house has recently been renovated. The 4th floor has a library and balcony with sweeping ocean views for quiet contemplation and the wide wrap-around porch gives shade and cool breezes in the summer. One bedroom has an en-suite bath with a jacuzzi tub, the other shares a bathroom. We have recently added a room with twin beds next to the master guest room that is ideal for two friends traveling together or families with children.
The kitchen is a cheerful gathering space and there is ample room to spread out and relax in front of the fireplace in the living room.
The property is well placed for easy access to Newport, Rhode Island as well as the South County beaches. It is very convenient for family or friends visiting students at the University of RI. Public transportation to Providence, Newport and URI is available at the top of the hill.
Please be advised that a reclusive cat and a very friendly golden retriever share the house with the owners!
No smoking in the house.
No pets/animals of any kind, for the sake of guests with allergies.
Sandy or muddy shoes come off on porch or foyer.
Water and other wet things must stay off wood surfaces.
We love to share our house with friends and enjoy offering hospitality to travelers from around the world. Rhode Island is a wonderful place to live and we have explored a lot of it and can be a local resource for you. Ann is a reading teacher at a local charter school in Providence and Todd is a software consultant working mainly from home. Ann was born in the UK and we have traveled a lot with our family. Our last big trip was to Dubai, UAE to visit our in-laws. We love to watch movies of all kinds and enjoy cooking and gardening. Our pets keep us busy and recently Todd has added bee keeping to his resume. We can now offer our very own honey at every breakfast!
