The space

A comfortable apartment in a period house in the heart of Ireland’s oldest city, ideal for business or leisure. Sleeping 2 -4 we offer a luxurious Queen size bed with memory foam mattress and cozy goose down bedding. This can be arranged as 2 single beds if required. Please note it is either a double bed or 2 singles. In addition there is a comfortable three quarter sized sofa bed in the sitting room. All linen and towels are provided. The shower room, sitting room and kitchen dining area in this bright and spacious accommodation are well designed for convenience and comfort. You will find all basic cooking ingredients in the fully equipped kitchen plus tea, fresh coffee etc. and Tesco supermarket is just 3 minutes walk away. Guests have access to Wi-fi and the apartment has a flat screen TV with numerous freeview channels. There is off road parking for three vehicles and a quiet private communal garden/patio area with barbeque facilities.

The apartment is on the 3rd floor of a large Victorian house situated on the edge of the Viking Quarter of Waterford, where history can be traced back to 914AD. Three museums, the world famous House of Waterford Crystal and the delightful Theatre Royal nestle into this corner of the city where you are never far from the banks of the river Suir. Take time out from city life in the People’s Park ideal for strolling, jogging, relaxing or enjoying a snack in the quaint Park Lodge café, just 2 minutes walk away. For families there are children’s playgrounds and a skateboard park for the teens. 2 minutes in the other direction will bring you to the multiplex cinema and a Tesco store. This convenient location is a 5-minute stroll from the city centre where excellent shopping and a wealth of restaurants and pubs to suit every taste await you.

Waterford airport is a 15-minute drive away and Dublin and Cork are both an hour and a half by road. There are also frequent rail and bus services to both. For those who love the coast Tramore, one of Irelands most delightful seaside resorts is just seven miles south of Waterford City. There are many scenic drives and walks along the Copper Coast or through the stunning Comeragh mountains for daytrips out.

Waterford holds numerous festivals throughout the year and there is always a full and varied programme of events in the local theatres and clubs. Nick has close links with the artistic community in the city and has enjoyed hosting many visiting artists, musicians, actors and crew.

We have two additional double bedroom with en-suite bath/shower available on request for €30 for one person and €40 for two sharing. We can also make available for hire our large period dining room for meetings or for entertaining up to 12 people by prior arrangement.

If you are someone who objects to a bit of dust or the occasional hair on the floor in a corner of a room please DO NOT BOOK THIS SPACE. And if you are a cleanliness freak and you do book this space, DO NOT COMPLAIN as you have been warned. This is not a dirty space, bur equally it is not an ice cube. This is me sharing my home with you, If this is what you want then go ahead and book and I would be delighted to host you. As you can see nearly all of my guests have really enjoyed their time here.

Our second time staying over Christmas in the self contained flat at the top of the house. Once again, cosy, comfortable, private and quiet. Nick was as warm and welcoming as before. Would definitely stay again.

The apartment was a self contained apartment within a house. It was true to the pictures and description. The location was fantastic, being walking distance to the town. The shower cuts out if someone else is having a shower elsewhere in the house, this needs to be fixed by the landlord. Nick was friendly and helpful during our stay.

Response from Nicholas:
Hi Lisa, thanks for the lovely review. Sorry about the water pressure in the shower!

We stayed with Nick in December and were very pleased with the accommodation. Great value, great location in a lovely part of the city. Large public park nearby with shops and city centre five minutes away. The apartment itself, located at the top of the house is cosy, comfortable and quiet with all facilities provided. Nick was very welcoming, affable and accommodating which made for a comfortable stay. Would definitely recommend.
