This solar powered schoolbus tiny home is nestled under open skies, near to the forest, with a lake front view, a full bed, kitchen with two burner stove & sink, & a cozy couch. Bliss in the heart of the Shawnee National Forest on Interwoven Permaculture Farm, in Lusk Creek Wilderness. Enjoy star gazing, swimming, and campfires. The chorus of nature will lull you at night, and greet you in the morning. It's a beautiful place to wake up! With kitchen, AC/Heater, this is ultimate glamping!!!

The space
The interior is finished in beautiful hand-milled pine, from our land. There is one full size bed, and a small couch. The kitchen has a two burner hot plate, an antique sink, with water provided, Britta Water filter, Basic utensils, can opener, french press coffee maker, toaster, pots and pan, plates, mugs, and such. There is a space heater and electric blanket for those cool nights and mornings, and a fan and window unit AC for the hot days. Beautiful lighting casts a magical glow. It's solar powered! Cozy bedding is provided. There's a dining table and chairs, as well. There's no fridge, so you'll want to bring a cooler. If you are doing an extended stay, we'll freeze your ice packs. There is no toilet inside the bus. We provide a very nice outhouse, with hand-washing sink and water. It's a short walk to the upscale outhouse. There is an outdoor cool-water shower house available for your use. The back porch is a great place to relax and stargaze.
The bus overlooks the two acre "Lake Harriet". Swimming, respectful and careful fishing, and enjoyment of the lake is available. There's a swing overlooking the lake, as well. Enjoy a campfire in the fire bowl, with firewood provided. Take a hike on the land or nearby in the Shawnee National forest.
We REQUIRE a pre-dark check in. If you cannot arrive before dark, please do not book the space. We're out in the country, under a big dark sky at night. That's one of the best things about this place, but it makes arrival and check-in very challenging at night. That is why we REQUIRE a pre-dark check in.

Guest access
Come down our driveway, and honk if you don't see us around. We'll provide guidance. We require a pre-dark check in, and we appreciate working out your ETA with you, so the bus is prepared for your arrival and to make sure we are around when you get here.

Other things to note
This is not a place for people who are uncomfortable with nature!!! The bathroom is an outhouse and a separate cold-water shower house. If you scare at the sight of bugs, dirt, and animals, you should consider accommodations elsewhere. It's a jungle out here...ticks are a real thing. Be prepared for a full nature immersion experience. We offer various in-season farm products for sale. Firewood is available for no cost, but we do accept tips for the hard working wood splitter and stacker. We have a very friendly dog, Tulsi, who might bark at you, but she's not a threat. Just act like you know her, and she'll be your bestie.

During your stay
Based on our availability, your desire, and weather. We're building a beautiful permaculture learning center here. You may hear/see people around working or enjoying the land. We naturally provide you with space, unless invited to interact, though we may check in and ask you how you are doing if we see you out and about. We occasionally have weekend events going on, which you are welcome to take part in, and we will let you know about it before your trip. (Examples of events may be "pop-up" food events, workshops or classes. Some have a fee, others are free), but most of the time, it's pretty quiet around here.
