About this listing
Lovely light and airy comfy double room with your own private bathroom.
Originally built in 1895, the house was completely renovated in 2011. It maintains its classic period character whilst providing for all modern living needs.
The guest rooms are situated on the second floor with the kitchen/breakfast room on the lower ground floor.
The house is large enough to offer you your own space so you won't feel crowded and you'll have as much privacy as you like.
Guests have a large and comfortable bedroom with a comfy double bed with their own private bathroom. The bathroom I allocate for this bedroom is half a floor below but totally private and dedicated to guests in this room.
You can also use the drawing room with TV when you want.
There is Wifi and internet access on every floor of the house.
I provide all the usual amenities including toiletries, bedlinen, bath towels, tea and coffee making facilities.
You have access to the paved and decked garden or roof terrace (which is near to your bedroom). Smoking is allowed on this terrace or in the garden.
Continental Breakfast (tea/coffee, juice, toast and croissants etc), is served in the kitchen/breakfast room and you are welcome to use the kitchen and equipment if you would like to prepare a snack for yourselves. I'm happy to assist you with any laundry requirements.
This distinctive Victorian red brick terrace was originally built to house the academic staff of the prestigious Brighton College. The six storey house overlooks the playing fields and college, beyond that towards the sea.
The Terrace is a nice quiet residential street, quiet enough to provide a relaxing stay but very convenient if you want to access the evening and nightlife that Brighton has to offer.
The house is very close to some excellent bus routes. Busses are very frequent and you can access all parts of the city and beyond from just around the corner. Brighton also has excellent taxi services.
Brighton is an easy place to navigate as a pedestrian. A walk to the seafront and beach takes five minutes. A walk to the pier or pavilion takes fifteen to twenty minutes depending on your pace.
Other things to note
College Terrace has on street parking with phone to pay parking at reasonable prices.
I don't have any major rules, I ask out of courtesy:-
If guests are out late I just ask them to be quiet when arriving home. I also ask guests to keep noise in their bedroom and bathroom to a minimum such as closing doors quietly in consideration of other people sleeping in the house.
I'd prefer guests not to wear shoes going up the stairs or in the bedrooms so you might like to bring slippers or bedroom socks.
I will only serve breakfast until 10am in the morning, after that you can help yourself to cereal, tea, coffee etc.
I'd prefer guests not to have take-away meals or store food in their bedroom. You can use the kitchen if you wish to eat at home.

By professional background I'm a qualified Podiatrist. I spent 25 years working in the NHS in London, initially as a clinician but then in senior management for the last 15 years.
After 25 years I decided to take a career break and turned to being a host with AirBnB as an alternative to keep me busy.
I'm married to a lovely man (Steve) who is totally supportive of my AirBnB hosting. Steve helps me host over the weekend when he's not in the office and we have the most gorgeous dog (Oscar). He's a Mini Schnauzer who thinks any guest at the house has come to visit him, he is so friendly.
I've now been a host for just over a year, I was nervous about doing it at first but I've been delighted to host so many people from so many different walks of life and I've hosted people from all around the world.
Our house is quite large which means the two rooms I put on AirBnB offer seclusion and privacy from your host (me) and both rooms have their own private bathroom so no guests have to share facilities.
I love Brighton, it's a fantastic place and I'm happy to offer you any advice or guidance you might like.
