Very modern space inside beautiful 100-yr old home. Recently renovated, clean, and up-to-date. Big deck for morning coffee. Family-friendly. Convenient location - near BART, Berkeley Bowl, etc. There is a rental apartment downstairs, so a shared backyard -- with a quiet, lovely couple.
We recently renovated this 100 year old home in Berkeley, creating a modern, light-filled space. It has wooden floors, updated kitchen and bathrooms, and clean, open spaces. It's on the upper two floors of this 3 story building, and is flooded with light. This rental is great for families or visiting relatives.
The main floor has 9 foot ceilings, and includes a spacious open floor plan -- with living room, dining room, kitchen. The sunny, bright kitchen is open to the dining room and living room. It has a gas stove, fridge, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, Cuisenart, and every cooking utensil you could need. The well-lit dining room has a table that comfortably seats six. There are 2 bedrooms on this floor - one with a king size bed, another with a guest/double bed. Washer and dryer available for guest use.
The upper floor is a charming attic space that we have set up as our kids room. It has 2 twin beds and a full bathroom.
The deck features comfortable furniture, a gas BBQ grill, and a full sized dining table. If it's warm, enjoy your morning coffee on the deck - with views of the Berkeley Hills in the background.
There are several parks and playground nearby, with playgrounds, public basketball courts and public tennis courts. We are very close to SF and an easy BART or drive into the city.
Guests will have exclusive access to the house, and shared access to the backyard.
Interaction with guests
We'll be traveling, but will make ourselves available via cell phone.
Other things to note
Allergy alert: Although we have the house cleaned before visitors arrive, it isn't suitable for people with dog allergies. We have a beautiful dog -- who who obviously won't be there during your stay.
The house is part of a duplex, so there is a second unit on the first floor -- a 1-bedroom rental with full-time tenants.
We own the building, and we took great care in renovating the space. We are eager to keep it well maintained for ourselves and for our tenants downstairs. Unfortunately, we cannot allow any pets. Please no smoking in the house -- or on the deck or backyard. Since this is the upper unit of a duplex, we would like people will be respectful of the downstairs neighbors and not make excessive noise. A few other things:
* No parties.
* No overnight guests who are not part of the advanced, airbnb reservation.
* Please use the kitchen freely but please clean up any mess that is created, including dishes, counters, stove, microwave. We don't want to attract ants.
* Please help us conserve energy by turning off lights, small appliances, lamps, etc. when not being used.
* Remember to lock the top & bottom locks on the front door & back deck door on your way out.
* Enjoy your stay!
