Enjoy Beach Life All Year Round in Panama at Uverito Beach!
In Panama, the great outdoors will be your playground all year round here in the Los Santos province on the Azuero Peninsula on the Pacific Ocean. And that includes being able to go to the beach anytime you want.
Uverito Beach stretches 3.2 kilometers (2 miles) where most of the time all you'll see is an occasional beach walker or jogger out for their exercise. Most of the long beach has single family vacation homes and is populated by a good mix of expats and locals.
The house is conveniently located just 10 minutes from the city of Las Tablas, and the city of Chitre is about 30 minutes to the north. This gives you access to shopping, healthcare, restaurants, and entertainment. Las Tablas is the capital of the Panamanian province of Los Santos, with a population of about 9,000. Las Tablas is a recognized national center of Panamanian folk: art, music, gastronomy, architecture, culture and literature.
It is known for a lively yearly Carnival, in which the city splits into two competing factions, "Calle Arriba" (Uptown, literally "Street Above") and "Calle Abajo" (Downtown / Street Below), both centered on two streets of the same name. Each faction will have a carnival queen, a parade, fireworks, music, a decorated plaza, food stands, presentations, concerts, games, contests, etc., all attempting to overpower the other's efforts. The drive from the beach winds past farmland dotted with cattle and horses.
If you feel like getting out on the water, you can go to the Port of Mensabe, a five minute drive around the corner from the house. Fishing is a major pastime and a number of fishing pangas can be contacted to go fishing.
And if you feel like kicking back, local restaurants in rustic eateries serve fried fish and ceviche for a few dollars each. Add an ice-cold beer for a buck and you can't beat it.
Uverito Beach is the go-to beach for families on weekends, holidays, and vacations, so it can be loud and crowded at times. But during the week the wide, flat, dark-sand beach is empty and it's a nice place to hang out with friends and family. The house is across the street from the beach with grassy access, a large covered patio/outdoor dining area, and hammock/rocking chairs to relax.
The best time to reserve your stay - any time!
So enjoy the coastline at Uverito Beach, relaxing on the beach, checking out Las Tablas, or heading out on the water.
You will have access to a patio with hammocks and rocking chairs. You also have access to the shared laundry room in the back of the house.
Interaction with guests
I'm always available by e-mail or telephone to answer any questions that you may have. If assistance is needed, I can contact my housekeeper or maintenance man to resolve any issues that may occur.
Other things to note
About a week before your stay, you will receive an email with a code for the combination lock that will be on the front gate. Inside the lock will be the keys to open the front gate and the apartment.
Smoking is allowed, but only on the outside patio...please pick up your butts.

I was born and raised in Balboa, Panama City, but moved to California to pursue a college degree in 1992. Upon returning to Panama during a break, I took a family trip to Las Tablas and was introduced to Uverito Beach. I quickly found myself enjoying the people, location, and lifestyle. On my second trip to the area in 2003, I bought a house with a huge 4 foot wide hole in the middle of the roof. While I returned to California to work, my mom handled the renovations and did a great job. I have been renting the Uverito Beach House for over 10 years with several very satisfied renters. In 2015, I returned to purchase a two story duplex on the other end of Uverito Beach, which is called Casa Playa El Uverito. Now, when I fly into Panama City, I wait a night before making the trip to Uverito Beach to relax.
