Charming and children-friendly family-house with modern nordic atmosphere and a beautiful garden situated 15 min from the center of Copenhagen and 5 min walk from the Metro. Walking distance to all kinds of stores on jernbane Allé. The house is newly restored with respect for the danish architecture style "Funkis" from the 1930'es.

The space

Welcome to our newly restored unique house on 146m2 with 3 bedrooms on main level and 1 bedroom in the basement. The house is situated south-west so the sun is here all day and evening lightning up the beautiful garden with its trees and playing grounds.
The big living-kitchen room on 50m2 is the heart of the house with its wood stove, piano and big huge windows and foldings doors to the garden and terrace.
We have 3 big bedrooms, 1 big guest room, 1 bathroom with tube and one guest toilet, and one big entrance. There is floor heating in most of the rooms.
The house is designed and decorated in a minimalistic nordic style with beautiful light tree-floors, tiles from Marocco and a Danish-design kitchen.

In the basement you will find washing machines, wine-cellar and storage.

We live here with our son, Theo, 3 years old, and daughter Isa, who is 7 months.

We would our guests to feel home and use it as if they were at home. We also therefore expect our guests to take good care of our house with respect as if it was their own home.
We would appreciate that shoes are put in the entrance or at the terrace since the floors are sensible to dirt.

We had a FANTASTIC stay at Karl & Maiken's house! Our welcoming was very warm and everything was as expected or better! Our family party was composed of 7 adults and 4 children and there was ample space for everyone. We were very comfortable and the house was perfectly clean. There are 4 rooms and 1.5 baths - really happy about the huge full bathroom (with tub) and extra 1/2 bath because we def needed it with 11 people! The kitchen was fully equipped and we made good use of it. Good stores a few minutes from the house. We LOVED the open feel of the house and enjoyed the lovely sliding doors/windows to the deck and garden. The weather was great and we took advantage of the grill and outdoor seating. The kids LOVED the garden, complete with trampoline, paddling pool, and swings! The location was also great - a 5 min easy walk to the Metro and about 25 mins from the airport. We are really happy with our stay and highly recommend Karl and Maiken's house! Thanks, K & M, for an unforgettable holiday!

Karl & Maiken house is really a very nice house for families with children. The garden is incredible and the 2 children rooms are full of toys for every difficult child. Karl was available at any time to respond to any question and everything worked fine in every aspect. Really a nice choice!

Karl and Maiken's place is tastefully furnished with a beautiful garden. Living area and kitchen is bright and spacious. The bedrooms are nice and cozy. We felt at home. Karl was great at communicating from the beginning to end and was very organized. The house is in a nice family neighborhood. It is a little far from the center, but the metro station is a five minutes walk away.

We stayed two families in Maiken and Carls wonderful house. The children loved the toys and the garden and the adults loved to sit by the fireplace in the evening when they were sleeping. It is close to the metro and train so easy afterwards to be anywhere in Copenhagen. Carl was very attentive and communicative before, during and after our stay. One family wished to stay all in one room so therefor they needed to sleep on inflatable mats which is less comfortable than a regular bed. We did see a regular double bed in the basement. A part of the basement is still to be renovated but otherwise the house is new and true to Scandinavian pure design. The garden is lovely, especially for children with lots of hide outs and toys. Nice family hideout close to supermarkets, bakeries, and other convenient stores. We would for sure consider this location again for another family trip.

My stay at Karl and Maiken's house was possibly the best AirBnB experience I've had! Karl was really helpful right from the beginning, emailing over an excellent welcome guide with lots of info and tips for our stay in Copenhagen. He was quick to reply to all my texts and very communicative without being intrusive - the perfect host! Karl also let us leave our bags in the house on our last day, which was so helpful with our late-night flight. The house is absolutely stunning - it's huge but still homely, with all the amenities you need and lots of beautiful personal touches. It has an understated Scandi style that is pleasing to look at as well as being extremely functional - I loved it! The garden is amazing too and it was so great to have a private outdoor space to enjoy during our trip. We BBQed and ate outside a couple of nights which was wonderful! The beds are comfy, there's lots of storage space, the shower is powerful and there's plenty of hot water. If you want to cook, you've got everything you need to whip up a meal and we enjoyed just hanging out in the house each evening. The location couldn't be better - the area is so peaceful but you're just minutes away from the metro and there are plenty of local shops for stocking up on food. All in all, we had the perfect stay at Karl and Maiken's place and I couldn't recommend it more. We will be back! :)

The house is great. Everything about it. The yard with a bbq grill and the playground for the kids make it just perfect. Karl was available at all times since we book the place. The area is quiet but very accesible for transport as you can catch the metro in 5 minutes and be in city centre within 20 min. We felt.like home. I would highly recomend it

Maiken is head of PR and Marketing for The Royal Danish Palaces. Karl is a producer in the symphony orchestra Copenhagen Phil, where he organizes concerts and media projects. Our son Theo is 3 years old.

We use the city a lot - especially all the many good restaurants and cozy cafes that Vesterbro and Frederiksberg offer. We appreciate a good movie in a theater, a concert or an exciting exhibition. We love being at home, where many evenings are spent at our terrace with a game of backgammon, a steak on the grill and a good glass of red wine.

We love to travel and have decided that a young child should not deter us from experiencing the world. Highest on the wish list is currently destinations such as: Iran, Japan, Vietnam Argentina and New York
