Interaction with guests
The kitchen is our shared space and where our paths will most likely cross. I often work from home and spend a lot of time tending to my yard. My morning routine is to make coffee and read the newspaper, which I am happy to share with you. I am usually in for the night by 10 pm and you may see me watching TV in the living room in the evenings (back part of house). I am available anytime by text. I welcome the chance to be a resource and respond to your questions about Austin.
One of the things that makes Austin special is its strong neighborhood culture. I live in South Austin, which to locals means south of the river (AKA Lady Bird Lake). It is the part of town that is known to be laid back, diverse, authentic and most representative of Austin in the sixties and seventies. Barton Springs, Zilker Park, Broken Spoke, South Congress are all part of the South Austin scene.
My neighborhood is called Southwood and is an eclectic blend original homeowners and transplants seeking the South Austin vibe. Out the front window you will see a steady stream of walkers, runners, people on bikes and skateboards. Chickens and even a few goats live in many backyards throughout the neighborhood.
#5 Woodrow/South 5th Cap Metro bus route (stop one block) goes downtown. Stop for #3 Burnet/Manchaca Cap Metro bus is .46 miles and it goes downtown via Lamar. Ride sharing and Car2Go available. Sidewalks and bike lanes along street. Off street parking for one car.
